Here’s How Much of a White Knight You Are, Based on Your Personality Type
The reference of someone exhibiting white knight behavior, implies that this person wants to save others. They are constantly searching for someone in distress and will come to their aid immediately. Here is how much of a white knight you are, based on your personality type.
INFJ
INFJs can definitely display white knight behaviors, since they have a natural desire to help others. They might find themselves coming to the rescue of the people around them, and are drawn to those who seem weak or in need. This isn’t a behavior most INFJs realize they are displaying, since it does come from a sincere desire to help others. While they do this in hopes of helping or saving people, it can often lead to the INFJ getting hurt themselves. Constantly trying to rescue people often causes the INFJ to get tied up with individuals who are a bit toxic.
ENFJ
ENFJs definitely exhibit plenty of white knight behavior, and have a constant desire to help those in need. ENFJs will go out of their way to provide for others and want to be sure to make the ones close to them happy. They can often be drawn to people who seem weak or in distress, and want to find a way to help improve their situation. This can certainly cause the ENFJ to find themselves tied up with toxic people, since they are always trying to help those who cannot seem to help themselves.
INFP
INFPs are independent people, but there are times when they feel inclined to defend someone. They have a strong distaste for injustice, and often desire to step in when they see something wrong being committed. They dislike seeing anyone who is weak being harmed to badgered by others, and might feel a need to come to their defense. INFPs follow their inner morals, and this often drives them to help others or in the very least attempt to shield them in some ways.
ENFP
ENFPs are very moral people who believe in doing what is right. There are times when they see someone in pain or being attacked by others, and they will likely step in. ENFPs often do their own thing in life and have a strong sense of independence, but there are times when they feel a strong desire to save others. ENFPs are more likely to tend to those that appear weak or in need, and can have a soft spot for people who cannot seem to take care of themselves. ENFPs don’t do this to be perceived a certain way, they simply care about doing the right thing.
INTJ
INTJs aren’t often seen as the white knights, since they have a strong desire to be independent. They can become frustrated with people who constantly look to others to save them. INTJs believe it is important to teach people and inform them, but to let them make their own choices and take care of their own needs. They are more than willing to help when someone asks them for it, but they aren’t likely to jump in and rescue someone who isn’t asking for it. They don’t have a constant desire to save others in some romantic fashion, and prefer to focus on informing those around them.
ENTJ
ENTJs are very independent and sometimes aggressive people who believe in going after what they want. They push forward and always strive to be as efficient and hardworking as possible. They aren’t the types to constantly be rescuing others, since they believe that people should tend to their own needs. ENTJs will help someone who is in need, especially if that person is willing to follow their instructions in order to improve. They simply aren’t going to go out of their way to save people who clearly don’t want to be rescued.
INTP
While INTPs are very independent people who follow logic over emotions, they can sometimes exhibit white night behaviors. They might have a strong desire to solve people, like they are a puzzle of sorts. The INTP will be drawn to someone who seems like they are in need of rescuing, and will want to find a way to help them improve their lives. This is something that can lead the INTP into sticky situations, but they definitely can make a difference for others, since they are intuitive people who often give great advice. There are times when this can feel a bit condescending to some people, since they might not exactly want to be saved.
ENTP
ENTPs are very independent people who believe in following their own path in life. They don’t often have a desire to rescue people, especially if those individuals don’t want to be saved. ENTPs would rather let people fumble on their own and make their own choices in life. ENTPs can definitely help those around them improve their lives, but they would rather wait for those people to request their assistance. They aren’t the smothering type and can find it rather annoying when people attempt to control others.
ISTJ
ISTJs aren’t often the white knight type, and prefer to maintain a sense of independence. They will certainly help their loved ones, but they aren’t going to offer assistance that isn’t solicited. ISTJs work hard to accomplish their goals and want to be able to provide for those closest to them. They don’t go searching for people to save, and would much rather find people who can also take care of themselves.
ESTJ
ESTJs do work hard to provide for their loved ones, but they aren’t naturally inclined to rescue people. For the ESTJ it is better to surround themselves with people who are efficient and who can tend to their own needs. They aren’t naturally in tune with the emotions of others, and won’t often recognize when someone is truly upset. ESTJs are more focused on getting things done, and providing for others in a practical sense.
ISFJ
ISFJs definitely can display white knight qualities, since they are always trying to care for those around them. They might step in to rescue people who seem to be in need of saving, and want to work hard to help them improve their lives. ISFJs simply care for others, and want to feel like they are needed. They might find themselves attempting to save people who don’t actually want to be saved, which can cause trouble with those relationships.
ESFJ
ESFJs can definitely fall into the white knight category, since they strive to tend to the needs of others. Sometimes ESFJs find themselves drawn to people who need saving, and will do their best to help them. They come to the aid of those in need, and find this to be a natural response. They care deeply about their loved ones and want to make them happy. This can cause the ESFJ to be drawn to people who are a bit toxic, since they are constantly incapable of taking care of themselves.
ISTP
ISTPs are not often seen as the white knight types, but they do have their moments. For the ISTP it is important to defend the truth, and they will likely step in if they feel like someone is being wrongfully bullied. They aren’t likely to go out and try to save people who don’t want to be rescued, but they will help people who are being attacked. ISTPs simply don’t appreciate this sort of bullying behavior, and are great at coming in with facts and shutting down the attackers.
ESTP
ESTPs aren’t the type to want to save others, and would rather focus on living in the present moment. They want to allow people to make their own choices, even if those choices seem a bit foolish. ESTPs enjoy being able to be independent and want to seek out their own adventures in life. If others need their help they are willing to step in, but they likely won’t do this without being asked. ESTPs simply don’t see the need to constantly try to save others, and would rather assist people by being informative.
ISFP
ISFPs are independent people who want to live in the present moment and enjoy the world around them. While the ISFP does get caught up in the present, they have strong inner morals. There are times when they might find it necessary to step in and assist someone in need, especially if that person is being sincerely wronged. While they can certainly defend others, in most situations ISFPs aren’t the type to try and save people who don’t want to be rescued.
ESFP
ESFPs aren’t often viewed as the white knight type, but they can sometimes exhibit this behavior. ESFPs are drawn to people who make the most noise or can guilt them the best. They can sometimes be taken advantage of since they will fall into people who are begging for their help. If the ESFP cares deeply for someone they will have a hard time saying, “no” to that individuals. While ESFPs can definitely try to rescue others, in most situations they would rather live their own lives without constantly seeking out others to help.
