Here’s What You Need to Forgive Yourself For, According to Your Personality Type
Everyone makes mistakes, but sometimes we can be hard on ourselves because of it. Here is what you need to forgive yourself for the most, based on your personality type.
INFJs can be so hard on themselves, but that is entirely unfair since they put forth more effort than most. INFJs need to forgive themselves when they make mistakes, and stop expecting that they can be perfect. Perfection does not exist, and even the most incredible individuals have flaws. INFJs need to forgive their own shortcoming and learn to love themselves for the quirks that make others admire them. They need to learn to move forward when they don’t accomplish something perfectly, and to learn from that mistake as a way to become an even better person.
ENFJs need to forgive themselves when they drop the ball once in a while (even though this rarely happens). They need to allow themselves a few mistakes here and there, without feeling like the world has ended because of it. ENFJs strive for perfection which can only becoming exhausting for them and everyone around them. Most of all, ENFJs need to forgive themselves for having their own needs and desires. They often forgo their own happiness for the sake of others, but sometimes they need things as well and it is important that the ENFJ forgives themselves for this.
INFPs need to forgive themselves for not always being up for a challenge. Sometimes they are overwhelmed by their thoughts and simply need to spend time alone inside of their own minds. This can cause the INFP to feel anxious, like they aren’t doing enough to make a difference. While INFPs are moral and caring people, they need time alone and sometimes lack motivation to go out into the world. They need to learn to forgive themselves when the outside world is too much for them, they need to accept that this is a part of who they are.
ENFPs need to forgive themselves when they cannot live up to everyone’s expectations. They have adventurous spirits and are always eager to explore new things, but sometimes this can lead to disappointing their loved ones. Having this sense of independence can inadvertently hurt their loved ones, and the ENFP will often put a lot of pressure on themselves because of this. They need to forgive themselves for their imperfections, and learn to embrace the people who appreciate them for exactly who they are.
INTJs need to forgive themselves for not always being aware of emotional responses and the needs of others. While INTJs seem always confident, they do care about their loved ones and can sometimes feel guilty for their lack of emotional awareness. They need to learn to forgive themselves when they don’t know the answer to everything, and to accept that they can’t be perfect all of the time. INTJs are certainly perfectionists and can be extremely hard on themselves at a young age. The INTJ needs to forgive their own mistakes, since they can certainly use those moments to learn and grow.
ENTJs are definitely perfectionists, so they need to forgive themselves for any mistakes they might make. They cannot be expected to know the correct answer to everything, and should be proud for always trying and putting forth extra effort. ENTJs also need to forgive themselves for their occasional errors in judgment when it comes to other people. They value loyalty and can become angry with themselves when they trust the wrong type of people. Instead of blaming themselves the ENTJ needs to realize that people are unpredictable, and to forgive themselves for their own vulnerabilities.
INTPs need to forgive themselves for not always having the motivation they desire. INTPs are intelligent and analytical people, but sometimes they struggle when it comes to taking action. They can be so hard on themselves because of this, and sometimes feel like their own potential is a massive burden. INTPs need to forgive themselves when they have days that are completely unproductive, and learn to accept that their downtime can actually teach them plenty. INTPs need to forgive themselves for not always having the answer, and for needing time by themselves to figure things out.
ENTPs need to forgive themselves for making the occasional mess which is difficult to clean up. They are eager and spontaneous people who enjoy being able to experience new things. Sometimes the ENTPs desire to bounce around can hurt others and create quite the mess in their lives. The ENTP simply needs to forgive themselves for making these mistakes, since this is how they learn and grow as people. They are always pushing to grow and improve, which is something to be completely proud of.
ISTJs need to learn to forgive themselves for falling short once in a while. They are hardworking people who push themselves to improve and become the best at whatever they do. ISTJs can sometimes struggle when they are tossed into a new situation without time to prepare, and can become frustrated by this. The ISTJ needs to forgive themselves for those times when they can’t quite live up to their own expectations. The ISTJ also needs to forgive themselves for the days when they don’t want to give all of their effort, and simply need to relax a bit.
ESTJs need to forgive themselves for their mistakes, since they can be rather hard on themselves. ESTJs always strive to work hard and get things done as efficiently as possible. When the ESTJ makes a mistake they can sometimes struggle to admit to this, and will secretly be furious at themselves for it. The ESTJ simply needs to realize that in these mistakes they learn and grow into better people, and to stop being fearful of how others will judge them. They need to forgive themselves, and stop looking towards others for this forgiveness.
ISFJs are definitely perfectionists, who want others to view them in a positive light. When ISFJs make mistakes, they need to forgive themselves for not always conveying the perfect image. They need to take time for themselves, without feeling guilty or selfish because of this. The ISFJ ultimately needs to forgive themselves for having their own needs, and for sometimes requiring time to themselves in order to recharge their batteries and feel normal once again.
ESFJs often strive for perfection and can be extremely hard on themselves when they fail. ESFJs simply need to forgive themselves for not being perfect and for possessing flaws like everyone else. They cannot always live up to their own expectations, and need to stop expecting that others will abandon them if they make a mistake. ESFJs need to forgive themselves for letting others down, and for having their own needs one in a while.
ISTPs simply need to forgive themselves for needing so much time alone. They require a sense of freedom in order to be happy, but this can lead to alienated themselves from others. ISTPs need to forgive themselves for the times that they struggle to understand emotions, themselves and others included. They aren’t uncaring people, they simply don’t find themselves easily picking up on emotional reactions, and this is something they need to forgive themselves for.
ESTPs need to forgive themselves for not always being able to handle everything. They need to forgive themselves for those moments when they become a bit reckless and make a mess of things. ESTPs need adventure in order to thrive, but sometimes they can create a bit of trouble out of this. The ESTP needs to forgive those mistakes and stop dwelling on the times they couldn’t quite please their loved ones how they wanted to.
ISFPs need to learn to forgive themselves for not always living up to their own greater desires. They want to make a difference in the world, but this isn’t always accomplished on a larger scale. The ISFP needs to forgive themselves for having days when they just need to be completely alone and alienated from the world. They need to forgive themselves for not always living up to the expectations of others, and to appreciate what they do provide for their loved ones.
ESFPs are fun and spontaneous people who can often stumble into a few messes because of their adventurous nature. ESFPs simply want to make the most out of the present, which sometimes leads to lack of future planning. They need to forgive themselves for not always living up to the expectations of others, since they also provide so much for their loved ones. ESFPs know how to make people smile, which is something they need to appreciate about themselves and be proud of.
