Here’s How You Feel About Sameness, Based On Your Personality Type

While some people find comfort in the feeling of sameness, others are frustrated by it. Some people enjoy constantly hunting for new experiences, while others enjoy the reliability in it. Here is how you feel about sameness, based your personality type.

INFJ

INFJs don’t mind a feeling of sameness, especially when it comes to their loved ones. They like being able to have connections that last a long time, and that share certain familiar qualities. Sometimes sameness can be a great comfort for the INFJ, and shows them that things are good and don’t need to be changed. There are some situations where too much sameness can cause them to feel trapped, like in their career or in other areas of their lives. They enjoy some change, but only when it feels like they are lacking passion.

ENFJ

ENFJs don’t mind sameness in certain areas of their lives, since it gives them comfort. They enjoy knowing how to do certain things so that they can take care of and provide for their loved ones. Sometimes having a schedule and things that are predictable can help the ENFJ prepare for situations which can be comforting to them. They often have so many things to juggle and constant new challenges that a little bit of sameness doesn’t hurt once in a while.

INFP

INFPs enjoy being able to mix things up, and dislike remaining stagnant for too long. While they enjoy switching things up a bit, INFPs still don’t mind a bit of sameness. They enjoy a certain feeling of nostalgia and can feel comforted by things they recognize from their past. INFPs enjoy this in small doses, but can become overwhelmed with everything gives them a recognition of sameness. Constantly feeling like everything is the same and ordinary, will cause the INFP to feel a bit bored and stagnant.

ENFP

ENFPs are complex people who often enjoy a mix of different things, instead of being easily pegged into one behavior. While ENFPs enjoy change, they do enjoy a feeling of sameness with certain things in their lives. When it comes to seeing the people they love every day, and recognizing certain behaviors of theirs, this type of sameness can be comforting and enjoyable for them. Where the ENFP becomes annoyed with sameness, is when it is a constant of doing the exact same behaviors each day, this becomes exhausting and boring for them. They enjoy change and want to be able to experience new and exciting things with the ones they love.

INTJ

INTJs don’t mind a bit of sameness in their lives, as long as they are free to continue learning and growing in other areas. They often enjoy the comfort of certain things that are the same as what they are used to. Coming home and relaxing with their favorite beverage or snack while they read or watch TV, those comforts are things they often enjoy having the same. INTJs just dislike when their work environment becomes comfortable in this way, they want to be able to continue growing and learning where it matters.

ENTJ

ENTJs don’t mind sameness in some ways, and that feeling of being connected can be comforting. Knowing what is to come and what will happen next is often helpful for the ENTJ in many ways. They don’t mind a sense of sameness, and won’t become stifled by it in some ways. Where the ENTJ wants to experience change is when it comes to themselves, they want to constantly be learning and growing into a better version of who they already are.

INTP

While INTPs enjoy a bit of nostalgia here and there, they become stifled by too much sameness. Constantly feeling like they are living by some sort of schedule and routine, can be upsetting for the INTP. They want to feel free to experience new things and feel miserable when they are stagnant for too long. Too much sameness definitely causes the INTP to feel stuck and they will need to make changes or find something new to occupy their time and energy.

ENTP

ENTPs don’t really enjoy that feeling of sameness, and can feel a bit trapped by it. When they feel like they are living by some sort of routine the ENTP often becomes overwhelmed and needs to make changes. They want to be able to dive into something new and like feeling like their lives are not constantly the same thing. While ENTPs enjoy feeling nostalgic for certain things from their past, they don’t want to feel like everything in their lives is constantly the same.

ISTJ

ISTJs often enjoy a feeling of sameness, and like living by a routine. They take comfort in knowing what their next move will be, since it helps them feel stable. ISTJs don’t need constant change or excitement to enjoy their lives, instead they are happier being able to predict things. ISTJs often enjoy sameness because it comforts them and helps them understand their lives and the choices they need to make.

ESTJ

ESTJs do enjoy a feeling of sameness, since it often gives them comfort. They want to know what comes next and prefer to be prepared for things in their lives. ESTJs don’t need constant change to feel happy with their lives, instead they want to keep focused on building a future that is stable. ESTJs enjoy dependability and don’t like things that constantly break them out of their routine.

ISFJ

ISFJs often enjoy the feeling of sameness and will take great comfort in it. They strive for a sense of peace and harmony in their environment and are happiest when things are calm. ISFJs like having routine in their lives and rarely enjoy having to step outside of their comfort zones. That feeling of sameness often helps put them at lease, since they prefer feeling connected to the things they know and understand.

ESFJ

ESFJs often enjoy sameness, as it gives them a sense of comfort and understanding. They don’t enjoy constant change and are happiest when they can keep some sort of routine in their lives. ESFJs care about tending to the needs of their loved ones, and when things are constantly changing this can become challenging. They often prefer that feeling of sameness, since it comforts them and helps them feel like they are prepared for things.

ISTP

ISTPs don’t enjoy constant sameness since they prefer to keep themselves moving. When things become too familiar it can leave them feeling trapped and stifled. ISTPs need room to grow and experience new things without constantly feeling held back. For the ISTP too much sameness is something that frustrates them and leaves them feeling uneasy.

ESTP

ESTPs aren’t often fans of sameness, and can become stifled by this feeling. Where they do enjoy sameness is where their loved ones are concerned, since they enjoy connecting with these people. ESTPs simply don’t like constantly living in a routine, instead they want to keep moving forward. For the ESTP life should be filled with adventure and excitement, not familiarity.

ISFP

ISFPs don’t mind sameness in some areas of their lives, but ultimately they prefer change. ISFPs dislike feeling trapped and too much familiarity can cause this. They want to experience new things and enjoy living their lives with a sense of adventure and excitement. For the ISFP sameness is often a bit draining, and causes them to feel like they aren’t truly living.

ESFP

ESFPs enjoy sameness sometimes, but this is mostly when they are connecting to their loved ones. They enjoy being close to the people in their lives and are happiest when they can feel this connection. Other than their loved ones ESFPs don’t really enjoy sameness, since they strive to experience new things in life. They want to live with excitement and passion, and are happiest when they are living in the present.
