ENFP Intelligence: How ENFPs Are Smart
When measuring intelligence it is important to remember that each person has their own unique type of intelligence. Just because someone might not be adept when it comes to sciences, doesn’t mean they don’t have an incredible grasp on languages. One person might be book smart, while the other is amazing at solving just about any problem which comes their way. There are so many ways in which people can be intelligent, and recognizing these different ways of using your mind can be an important step towards understanding people better. Just assuming someone isn’t smart because they respond to things differently than you, would be an ignorant thing to believe.
ENFPs are curious people who enjoy exploring new ideas and information, which is something that helps them grow and learn. They are often capable of learning about so many different things and can remember details that others are likely to forget. ENFPs might be seen as emotional people who follow their hearts more than their minds, but that doesn’t mean they are not intelligent or capable of being logical people. They have complex inner worlds and they enjoy spending a lot of time exploring their thoughts and different ideas. ENFPs are rarely closed minded people, they want to be open to different theories and information. They do however, have strong inner morals which they believe in standing by no matter the struggles they might face.
Emotional Intelligence
ENFPs are often very self-aware and have a strong grasp on their internal emotions. This is partly why ENFPs have very meaningful and important morals which they don’t like deviating from. They believe in standing up for themselves and their values, and don’t like doing anything which deviates from this. This sense of self-awareness and knowledge of their own emotions is something which is a very unique type of intelligence for the ENFP. While they might not always focus on facts and rational behaviors, the ENFP knows themselves and this is actually more rational for them than people might realize. When they are sure of something they don’t deviate from this and will do whatever it takes to stand up for those internal beliefs. They are passionate people, wanting to always follow their heart and their own inner belief system. This makes the ENFP more dependable when it comes to the morals they hold as valuable, as they will fight to stand by these things. When the ENFPs express themselves they are often sure of their inner feelings and can be open about them with loved ones. While some people might struggle to know or understand their own feelings and beliefs, the ENFP spends a lot of time inside of themselves just sifting through this information. They take the time to really work through these values and emotions, and this helps the ENFP become more conscious of their choices and unafraid to really follow through with those things. When they express their emotions it is because they are sure of them and are not afraid of showing people this. This can be a bit overwhelming for people at times, but it does give the ENFP a better understanding of human behavior as well. They can connect with people through their own emotions, and have a better comprehension of how to be sensitive to people’s needs and feelings.
Understanding Complex Theories
While ENFPs might be viewed as emotional people, they are actually capable of comprehending more complex theories and ideas. Where others might become stuck and find it difficult to explore something they don’t already understand, the ENFP can allow their minds to wander into these different theoretical paths. They actually enjoy stretching their minds, and want to be able to consider the different potential angles. They can imagine things which might appear crazy or outlandish to others, and instead the ENFP likes to consider the potential in those ideas. This helps them to comprehend some more complex theories and see patterns in these things, without really struggling to do so.
Creative Intelligence
ENFPs are also very creative people with rich and complex inner minds. They enjoy exploring this part of themselves and like to be able to think up new ideas and theories. This is something which helps the ENFP problem solve in unique and different ways. While others might approach something from the same angle or always want to follow proven methods, the ENFP is not afraid to venture out. They will explore the many different possibilities, not just zoning in on one thing. They are willing to be seen as foolish or explore something which might be a bit frightening, in hopes of understanding it better. Their minds are capable of seeing so many different angles and potential when it comes to new ideas or situations. For the ENFP exploring these possibilities is actually exciting and something which comes naturally for them. This gives them a truly unique and often creative approach when it comes to which path they should choose, and helps the ENFP to explore the world from different angles. They can often come in and help problem solve when others are likely struggling to see another way to approach the problem.
Openness to New Ideas
ENFPs don’t like to be closed-minded people, which helps them explore different ideas. Instead of only focusing on things they know, the ENFP is willing to take a few risks once in a while. They want to be able to jump into new things and really don’t like feeling held back. This is something which can occasionally get them into trouble, but also helps the ENFP remain truly open to new things. This is something which can certainly be viewed as a type of intelligence, as being too closed off prevents people from really learning and growing. ENFPs want to constantly be growing and value having some sort of change in their lives. Stagnancy can make them unhappy, which really opens them up to new experiences and helps them to learn about things that others might be closed off to.
