Te-Ni Dom: The First Two Functions of the ENTJ
Each personality type has an order in which their functions operate and are used most. It is important to understand that the combination and placement of these functions greatly affects how that person perceives and responds to information. This is how they take in the world around them, as well as their own inner world and thoughts. This is also how each person responds to the outside world, and how they problem solve and come up with the answers. The entire stack plays an important role, but the first two definitely bounce off on another to make someone behave in certain ways and respond to other people and situations. Knowing those first two functions better and how they work together can help to understand a person a bit better.
The ENTJs dominant function is their extraverted thinking (Te) and their auxiliary or second function is their introverted intuition (Ni). These functions work well on their own, their Te being the one which helps the ENTJ make choices and is how they process the world around them. While their dominant function is often the leader, their other functions help support their Te and make them a well-rounded person. The combination of TeNi makes the ENTJ focused on the future, and in building the type of life they want for themselves and those closest to them. With these other functions like their Ni, the ENTJ becomes very focused on creating the life they want and making things happen without holding back.
What is Te
For the ENTJ their Te is something which draws them towards efficiency and always wanting to get things done the right way. They don’t like making mistakes and want to be prepared before they step into things headfirst. They are very concerned with moving forward and taking action, rather than allowing themselves to become complacent or stuck in the same lifestyle. ENTJs want to be able to use their minds to problem solve and ensure that they can accomplish any goal they set their minds to. Their Te helps them to come up with the most obvious solution in order to get things done and solve their problems. ENTJs are very focused and driven people and this Te is what helps them create a more clear and concise direction for themselves. They are not afraid of pushing themselves forward, using their sense of details and facts in order to get the job done without questioning it or themselves. Since Te is very focused on facts and logic, it helps the ENTJ create a clear plan without having to worry if they are making a mistake or their judgement is off.
What is Ni
The ENTJs Ni or introverted intuition, is what helps them process all of the information they absorb and take in. This gives them a stronger connection to the future, and creating the life they want for themselves. Their Ni makes the ENTJ very focused on goals, wanting to foresee the best choice and take hold of it without doubt. It gives them a sense of what is to come, and helps the ENTJ to better predict what choices will help them achieve their goals in life. This is something which can make the ENTJ seem inside of their heads at times, which can be surprising to people since they are also so outgoing and extroverted. Their Ni gives them a rich inner mind and the way they processing thoughts can be caught up inside of their heads a lot. ENTJs can dream of the future and imagine what is ahead of them, and have a complex inner mind which most people cannot fathom. This Ni gives the ENTJ a sense of the bigger picture, rather than simply focusing on the present moment and neglecting what is around the corner. They can see things as a whole, and make choices in order to navigate what is around them much better because of it. They don’t just see the details and the small parts of a problem, they can view it from a larger scale. Their Ni helps them to see patterns from the events and information they gather, helping them to make useful future predictions.
The ENTJs TeNi Drive
The combination of TeNi is something which helps the ENTJ be very focused on their goals and in making these dreams come true. They don’t want anything to stand in their way or hold them back from becoming the person they want to be, or from accomplishing the tasks which matter most to them. ENTJs don’t want to waste time on things which won’t help them get where they want to be. They value efficiency, but also can have a dreamy nature about them and want to be able to reach for whatever they desire without being afraid of the challenge. While ENTJs do like to be sure of their choices, the way their functions work, they don’t need to spend time constantly analyzing things to death. ENTJs actually enjoy being able to take action, not just envision how things could be. They don’t like people who waste their time or energy, and want to have goals in mind when they set out to do something. For the ENTJ this combination of functions helps them to see the most logical course of action, and take hold of it without hesitating. When they trust in themselves they are capable of making things happen, and can often do anything they set their mind to. They are independent people who are not afraid of pushing to make things happen, even though it can be a challenge at times. For the ENTJ being someone who is so focused on efficiency can cause them to be very self-sufficient, as not everyone is capable of this type of behavior. This makes the ENTJ someone who can climb to the top, and their stronger functions do play a big role in this sense of drive and determination.
