Here’s How You Handle Praise, Based on Your Personality Type

While some people love receiving praise, others can feel embarrassed by it. Here is who you handle being praised, based on your personality type.

INFJ

INFJs can definitely become a bit uncomfortable with too much praise, especially if all eyes are on them. They don’t really enjoy being center of attention and can feel embarrassed in these situations. Even when someone they care for gives them praise it can cause the INFJ too feel flushed and a bit nervous. While they might truly enjoy having someone they care about tell them positive things and build them up, it can feel a bit stranger for them. INFJs aren’t really used to being the one receiving praise, since they don’t seek to make themselves the one in the spotlight.

ENFJ

ENFJs can definitely handle praise, especially when it comes from people they care for. They enjoy when the people closest to them appreciate their hard work and their constant efforts. ENFJs do a lot for their loved ones and want to be sure that they are recognized for this. They often go above and beyond to make the people around them happy, and at the same time ENFJs work to impress these people. They can be perfectionists at times, and dislike when they have disappointed anyone. This can cause the ENFJ to actually appreciate praise when they receive, since it makes them feel like they are achieving their goals.

INFP

INFPs can certainly feel awkward when receiving praise, especially if this makes them the center of attention. They prefer to keep to themselves a bit more and can become uncomfortable with too many eyes on them. INFPs might enjoy when their loved ones share their affections for them, but certain types of praise can feel a bit embarrassing. Even if the INFP enjoys these compliments, it isn’t something that immediately feels natural for them. They will certainly try to overcome these feelings, since it feels good to know that the people they love actually appreciate them.

ENFP

ENFPs don’t mind being center of attention, and will do their best to settle into that role if others place them in it. They enjoy being charismatic and bringing people together in a fun-loving way. While ENFPs certainly don’t mind receiving attention from others, too much can eventually be overwhelming. They will likely want to appear modest and don’t want to let too much praise go to their heads. While they might avoid it at first, ENFPs do enjoy hearing kind words from the people they care for the most. ENFPs don’t require this constant praise, but they appreciate knowing where they stand with the people around them.
