The Enneagram 136 Tritype, typically referred to as “The Taskmaster” or “The Worker”, is a combination of three distinct Enneagram types: Type 1, Type 3, and Type 6. Let’s take a closer look at each type:

  • Type 1 (Perfectionist or Reformer): This is the principled, self-controlled, and purposeful type. These individuals bring a high level of integrity and a desire for things to be ‘right’ according to their standards of right and wrong.
  • Type 3 (Achiever): This type is adaptable, driven, and image-conscious. They are typically goal-oriented and work hard to achieve their ambitions, often focusing on efficiency and productivity.
  • Type 6 (Loyalist): This type is committed, security-oriented, and often anxious. They are responsible and see it as their duty to anticipate problems and keep themselves, and often their community or loved ones, safe.

When combined into the 136 Tritype, these types produce an individual who is highly dutiful, committed, and industrious. They have a unique blend of ethical rigidity, strategic thinking, and a drive for security, causing them to be very action-oriented in their efforts to create a stable and orderly world.

Individuals with the 136 Tritype can be extremely dependable. They tend to be very focused on their commitments and responsibilities, working diligently to ensure they are met. They typically have strong organizational skills and pay close attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and correctly.

Despite their productivity and tendency to adhere to rules and processes, they can struggle with stress, often fueled by concerns about meeting standards, fulfilling responsibilities, and ensuring security.

Like Type 6, they are often anticipating potential problems and trying to troubleshoot ahead. Along with the perfectionism of Type 1 and the achievement-oriented nature of Type 3, this can mean they struggle to relax, are often hard on themselves, and can get caught up in work or duty at the expense of their personal needs and relationships.

Yet, understanding one’s Tritype can help individuals find routes to personal growth – in this case, striking a balance between responsibility and self-care, and between striving for security and embracing uncertainty. Understanding their Enneagram Tritype can offer individuals a deep insight into their motivations and fears, opening pathways for personal development and improved relationships.
