INTP Weight Loss & Dieting: How to Burn Fat

Dealing with weight loss and healthy dieting is a struggle for so many people, and so we are often looking for tools and ways to make this easier. Sometimes finding more personal means of becoming healthier is the best way to be successful in your approach. So many diets and methods are not personalized and they end up being more of a struggle for people than they are a help. This is why diving deeper into your personality type can actually be a helpful tool in uncovering better steps towards a healthy lifestyle and weight loss plan. While it sometimes requires more professional assistance, there are some important things to learn about which might be beneficial for each personality type.

INTPs have very active inner minds, which can cause them to struggle with their physical awareness at times. They become so caught up in these inner thoughts and their imagination that they lose track of the world around them. This can be a bit of a struggle when they are trying to eat healthy and exercise, as the physical world isn’t always that appealing to them. INTPs struggle with rules and having to follow anything too strict, which is why most diet and exercise plans can be a bit monotonous for them. They need something which is more fitted to their personality and their own needs. They don’t like things which force them to conform or make them feel like they are being controlled, and a lot of diets can do exactly that.

Best Type of Exercise

For INTPs exercise has to be connected to something positive and fun, or else it can become a bit too monotonous. Just doing it for the sake of being healthy might not be enough to keep them interested, and so they will find themselves distracted. They can do things like listen to podcasts or audiobooks while they workout, and this can be a great way to keep their minds busy. It can be good to have certain things they only listen to during their exercise time, as this will give them more incentive and keep it from becoming a negative thing. Having rewards can be helpful for INTPs at times, as it keeps their minds focused on some sort of goal they can accomplish and feel proud of. Having to do workouts which are focused on being around other people can be a challenge for INTPs at times, but they might enjoy a combination of both. Being able to get in a workout on their own is important, since there are plenty of times when they just don’t want to be around others and need space to themselves. It can help to have friendly motivation though, whether this comes from a friend or a partner who is focused on being healthy as well. These reminders need to be done in a way which isn’t pushy or demanding, or the INTP becomes annoyed with this.

INTP Diet Plan

Researching healthy options can be helpful for INTPs, since they really enjoy being able to learn and form their own ideas of what is right. When it comes to dieting INTPs need something they feel personally connected to, something which makes logical sense to them. This is why doing research and learning which diet is right for them is often the best path for INTPs. They might enjoy trying a couple different options before commiting to something, but it is important for them to maintain some sort of organization. If they find themselves bouncing around too much they can lose sight of the end goal and find themselves not wanting to continue at all. Once they find something which seems to make sense, learning to maintain a schedule is important, albeit difficult for them at times. INTPs might have a tendency to skip meals and this is not something which they should be doing, as it forces them to binge. INTPs need to be sure to eat at a healthy schedule and ensure they are still eating all of their meals and not skip things like breakfast and leave themselves forgetting to eat entirely. Eating right is something which becomes a habit, and so INTPs need to find useful ways to maintain this lifestyle even though it is difficult at times.

The Struggles for the INTP Diet

One of the biggest struggles for INTPs is maintaining a type of schedule, as their minds can become distracted easily. They need to form habits otherwise they can lose focus on what they are doing and it becomes hard to really keep up with these plans. While INTPs benefit from forming certain habits they often need positive ways to do this or else they become drained with the schedules and strictness. For them having to follow something which has constant rules and regulations can be a challenge, as they need space to themselves. INTPs can find themselves forgetting about their physical well-being and might neglect this for a while, finding that they haven’t eaten all day. When this happens they might binge later on, and this can lead to poor choices. INTPs don’t do this intentionally, which is why having healthier options around them can be so important and learning to form habits which are more natural can also be beneficial. INTPs simply struggle to really pay attention to the physical world when they become so caught up inside of their own inner thoughts. Being someone who can easily become distracted and doesn’t like to follow rules or anything strict, can make it a challenging process for the INTP who wants to form healthier diet and exercise habits. It certainly creates struggles for them, but it isn’t impossible at all it just requires some changes and adjustments to their usual patterns.
