Here’s How Often You Experience Wanderlust, Based on Your Personality Type

While some people are grounded and feel safer where they are, others have minds that carry them away and dream of far off places. Here is how often you experience wanderlust, according to your personality type.

 

INFJ

While INFJs are often stable people who enjoy being there for their loved ones, they do have extremely complex inner worlds. The INFJ will often dream of far off places and imagine many different things within a short period of time. They definitely experience a sense of wanderlust often, and dream of being able to pick up and head off somewhere else. For the INFJ it isn’t so much about leaving where they are, but is more connected to their desire to experience something truly meaningful.

ENFJ

ENFJs desire to protect their loved ones and want to do whatever they can to make them happy. They strive to tend to the needs of others which often takes priority over their own desires. While ENFJs often remain grounded and stable in order to protect those around them, they do experience occasional feelings of wanderlust. They might dream about new opportunities and beautiful places, and imagine what it would be like to experience them. The ENFJ will sate this feeling if they can experience it alongside their loved ones.

INFP

INFPs definitely experience a feeling of wanderlust rather often in their lives. They have vivid imaginations and often dream of experiencing new and exciting things. INFPs often believe they are meant for greater things and desire to truly experience something that makes a difference. They want to connect with the world on a deeper level, instead of simply remaining stagnant in the same place. INFPs might struggle to take advantage of these feelings, but they will experience wanderlust almost constantly.

ENFP

ENFPs experience wanderlust almost constantly, and have a deep desire to experience the world around them. They want to be challenged and enjoy being able to try new things and visit new places. ENFPs will enjoy just picking up and heading somewhere new, without even a moments notice. They have vivid imaginations and often dream of different places and exciting adventures. ENFPs don’t want to feel stuck or stagnant and truly hate having to remain in the same place for long without new challenges.

 

INTJ

INTJs are focused and intellectual people, who enjoy being able to absorb knowledge. While they appear very grounded and stable on the outside, they do experience feelings of wanderlust. INTJs simply enjoy anything that can expand their minds and help them grow. They often want to travel and see new places, even though they will likely plan their trips out properly. INTJs want to be prepared for everything, and dislike jumping into things without proper planning ahead of time.

ENTJ

ENTJs are driven and hardworking people who value efficiency. They believe in working hard to get things done, which can keep them focused on what is in front of them. They might experience feelings of wanderlust, and desire to experience something new. While the ENTJ might want to set out and travel, they often need to plan out their trip and don’t like just jumping into something new with preparation.

INTP

INTPs experience wanderlust constantly and enjoy being able to experience new things. They want their lives to be filled with challenges and new experiences, and dislike feeling stagnant. INTPs are likely to set out on a road trip in the middle of the night, without much of a plan in place. They are spontaneous people who thrive on possibilities and newness. INTPs do experience wanderlust all of the time, especially when they are feeling a bit stuck in their lives.

ENTP

ENTPs almost live in a constant state of wanderlust, especially since they have such vivid inner minds. Their active imaginations keep the ENTPs constantly curious, and causes them to desire new experiences. They enjoy being able to jump into something without much planning, and thrive on the challenge of something unknown. ENTPs want their lives to be filled with excitement and possibilities, which is why they certainly experience feelings of wanderlust often.

 

ISTJ

ISTJs are steady and focused people, who work hard to accomplish their goals. They believe in working hard to be efficient and have rather grounded personalities. ISTJs do enjoy being able to experience excitement, but they want to be able to plan for it accordingly. For ISTJs it is important to prepare for whatever trip they are taking, and dislike going into without practical means. ISTJs don’t experience wanderlust often, since they are driven and reliable people.

ESTJ

For ESTJs it is important to remain grounded and responsible, which keeps them from experiencing wanderlust all that much. They dislike having to jump into something new and believe it is important to always prepare for things. ESTJs are hardworking people who don’t want to do anything that might compromise their goals. While they might enjoy being able to travel, they can certainly keep any feelings of wanderlust in check until it makes practical sense.

ISFJ

ISFJs are very reliable and focused people who believe it is important to take care of their loved ones. They do their best to provide for their loved ones and are strongly focused on making them happy. ISFJs prefer to live their lives with a sense of stability and dislike being tossed into something new. They want to be able to prepare for things so that it doesn’t get their loved ones hurt in any way. ISFJs rarely experience feelings of wanderlust, since they enjoy a simpler lifestyle.

ESFJ

ESFJs are focused on caring for their loved ones and believe it is important to tend to their needs. They don’t mind remaining grounded, since they want to be a source of stability for the people around them. While ESFJs care about providing for others and making them happy, which keeps them in a stagnant position sometimes. While ESFJs care for their loved ones, they do experience feelings of wanderlust sometimes and want to experience new things.

 

ISTP

ISTPs crave excitement and want to experience new things in life. They live in the present moment and aren’t afraid of taking chances. This desire to experience adventure can definitely cause the ISTP to feel wanderlust often. They enjoy being able to jump into something new without hesitation, and might just pick up and go on a long road trip in the middle of the night.

ESTP

ESTPs want to experience life to the fullest and enjoy being able to go on adventures. They want to try new things and dislike when their lives become too stagnant. For ESTPs it is important to be able to move around and dislike feeling stagnant for too long. They certainly experience feelings of wanderlust, and crave being able to take on new adventures.

ISFP

ISFPs believe in living in the moment and following their hearts wherever that might lead. ISFPs do experience wanderlust often, and dream of far off places and new people. ISFPs want to live a life of adventure and excitement, even if they don’t always take advantage of this desire. ISFPs enjoy new things, and often crave beauty, which is why they desire to visit different places.

ESFP

ESFPs definitely experience wanderlust often, since they crave excitement and adventure. ESFPs live in the present moment and aren’t afraid of taking chances. They might jump into the car with a loved one and just begin driving until they find somewhere that seems exciting. ESFPs do want to travel, and want to see beautiful and different places.
