Here’s How Much of a Short Fuse You Have, Based on Your Personality Type
Some people just naturally have a short fuse and find it somewhat easy to snap when things get on their nerves. Some people are just far more patient and can handle a lot of irritation before they finally are pushed over the edge. People with a short fuse are often this way even though they try not to be, and find themselves snapping regardless. Here is how much of a short fuse you have, based on your personality type.
INFJ
INFJs don’t usually have a short fuse, they actually can be rather patient. It takes a while for them to really build up to their explosive point, but once it does blow it is rather intense. INFJs try to avoid getting to this point, and really just need to get time to themselves so that they don’t become overwhelmed. When the INFJ feels like they are reaching this high stress point, they will certainly blow up if they don’t get time alone to recharge and calm themselves. While the explosion can be rather intense when the INFJ reaches this point, it does take a while before it actually happens.
ENFJ
ENFJs don’t usually have a short fuse, since they try hard to be patient with people and situations. They can often put up with a lot of stress and negative situations before they actually snap. While ENFJs don’t necessarily have a short fuse, the explosion can be rather intense when they actually do reach their breaking point. They often try to hold it in for so long and ultimately become really upset when they are finally pushed over the edge. ENFJs try to take care of everyone and often feeling unappreciated and overworked is what sends them into this feeling of having to snap.
INFP
INFPs do sometimes have a bit of a short fuse, and find themselves letting things out more openly. They don’t try to hold it all in, and this is often what helps them cope better when they are upset. INFPs prefer to express themselves, and if they are upset they will make this known. It might seem like they have a short fuse, but in truth they allow themselves to react to their emotions instead of bottling them up. They usually don’t snap on people in such intense ways as someone who tries hard to keep it all in and appear so patient.
ENFP
ENFPs rarely seem like they have a short fuse, simply because they don’t usually explode. They allow themselves to express irritation and try to understand their feelings instead of ignore them. This helps the ENFP refrain from really exploding in ways that can be a bit intense. ENFPs can snap in small ways, but they don’t become frustrated in intense ways which cause them to blow up. They try not to allow things to build and want to let most things roll off of their back.
INTJ
INTJs can sometimes appear to have a short fuse, since they don’t have much patience for ignorance. People who do the same foolish things and just don’t use their minds, can be very annoying for the INTJ. They do sometimes have a short fuse and find themselves becoming very impatient towards people at the end of the day. INTJs also need a lot of time to themselves to recharge, and without it they become overwhelmed and truly annoyed. They do have a somewhat short fuse, simply because they have a low tolerance for ignorance.
ENTJ
ENTJs can have a short fuse, and often find themselves snapping at people who push them over the edge. When people are lazy or inefficient the ENTJ often becomes truly agitated by this. They find themselves needing to be stern in order to get things done, and can certainly seem impatient because of it. ENTJs definitely do have a bit of a short fuse, but at the same time they can get over this and move on rather quickly. They simply snap when people are trying their patience, and do what they can to move on to the next problem.
INTP
INTPs try not to seem like they have a short fuse, and usually attempt to let things roll off. In truth they do have a bit of a short fuse, often because they attempt to bury their emotions. INTPs simply have a lot going on inside of their minds and this can make it challenging for them to handle outside issues all that well. They don’t like being someone who is impatient and loses their temper, but it does happen a bit. They can feel themselves becoming frustrated and on edge, but they will try not to snap all that easily.
ENTP
ENTPs can definitely have a bit of a short fuse, but they often don’t like letting this show. They try to let things roll off of their backs and will work to move on from anything that does frustrate them. ENTPs don’t want to allow these negative situations to drag them down, and so they simply move on from anything that frustrates them. ENTPs bury their emotions most of the time and don’t let themselves become outwardly annoyed, while deep down they can become rather agitated by people easily.
ISTJ
ISTJs do have a somewhat short fuse, especially since they become impatient with people fairly easily. They value intelligence and efficiency and really don’t appreciate people who have little work ethic. ISTJs value people who put in a lot of effort and who are capable people. They can lose their temper when people are just plain lazy, or when they continue to take advantage of those around them. ISFJs also need time to themselves in order to recharge and when they don’t get this their fuse becomes even shorter.
ESTJ
ESTJs can certainly have a short fuse, since they become impatient with people they deem to be stupid or ignorant. They don’t like being around people who don’t have a strong work ethic, and so they become highly intolerant of them. When the ESTJ is feeling annoyed by someone, they will snap and find themselves wanting to get away from them or unload their frustrations onto that person. ESTJs believe in working hard as a team and have little room in their lives for people who cannot keep up.
ISFJ
ISFJs can have a short fuse, even though they try not to let this become apparent. Normally the ISFJ will attempt to let things slide and do their best to take care of their loved ones. They don’t want to do anything that might upset those around them, but there are times when they can feel overwhelmed. If the ISFJ has gone too long feeling unappreciated and overworked, then they develop a very short fuse and find themselves on edge.
ESFJ
ESFJs try to keep a sense of patience with those around them, and dislike losing their temper. For the ESFJ they do develop a bit of a short fuse when they have gone too long feeling like they aren’t appreciated. When this happens the ESFJ does become impatient and on edge, finding it easy to snap on those around them. They want to be around their loved ones and do their best to take care of them, but this desire to always please others can lead to them becoming a bit on edge.
ISTP
ISTPs don’t usually have short fuses, instead they try to let things go. They live in the moment and do their best to avoid getting to hung up on negativity. Of course ISTPs do become impatient with people, but in these situations they just try to get away from them. They prefer to be on their own most of the time, since this helps them avoid feeling agitated by people and their occasional ignorance. ISTPs are happiest when they have plenty of time to themselves, dealing with the things that bring them joy and excitement.
ESTP
ESTPs try not to have a short fuse, but they actually can become short-tempered with people. ESTPs can bounce from one things to the next rather quickly, which means being perfectly find one second and annoyed the next. They have rather intense moods and desires, which can cause them to have a short fuse most of the time. They try hard not to let this be the case, but they simply don’t like being pushed. When the ESTP feels truly pushed by someone, they will find themselves snapping in a way that isn’t entirely rational.
ISFP
ISFPs can be ruled by their emotions, which does cause them to have a bit of a short fuse. When they feel pushed in the wrong direction they will allow their emotions to take over. ISFPs live in the moment and this often helps them move on to the next thing. When they snap over something the ISFP will be capable of letting this go and will move on from this situation. They do have a short fuse, but they also have a rather fast rebound rate for things that annoy them.
ESFP
ESFPs actually can have a short fuse, simply because they are such emotional people. They follow their feelings and can jump from one thing to the next rather quickly. While the ESFP might have a bit of a short fuse, they find it easy to move on from this. They become overwhelmed by their emotions and can have a short fuse, but when it is over they move on from these negative feelings. ESFPs don’t like allowing things don’t hold them back and try not to dwell when they do become upset by something.
