Here’s Everything You Need to Know About the INTJ Mother
INTJs can be strongly misunderstood by people who don’t fully recognize their strengths and depth. While on the surface some might see INTJs as cold it is entirely untrue, especially around their loved ones. The INTJ mother has many positive strengths, and a few unique struggles that they have to deal with. Here is everything that you need to know about the INTJ mother.
They Foster Independence
The INTJ mother wants to help their child be independent and strong on their own. While there are some parents who hover far too much and create children who cannot fend for themselves, the INTJ mom will not do that. She often plays a very active role in her children’s lives, but she wants to make sure to teach rather than smother. The INTJ mother works to help her children understand themselves and come to terms with their own desires. She is also a realist, so the INTJ mother won’t give their child a false idea of how the world works. She will work to inspire her children, and certainly will be their biggest supporter- but she will also show them how to go about accomplishing their goals.
Some people see INTJs as cold, but can be rather caring and loving parents. They are often different with the people they love, and can be very giving and patient. INTJs can be rather sweet towards those closest to them, this is simply a side to them only the special few get to see. As mothers they are often patient and understanding, and don’t want to do anything harmful towards their children. When their children are struggling the INTJ will do whatever they can to guide them, and help them with all of the information they need to make the right choice. While INTJs might not be the type to always go easy on their children, everything they do is for the well-being of the child. They realize that sometimes being a good parent means doing the harder thing, instead of always trying to be their child’s best friend. They want and open and communicative relationship with their children, they simply don’t need to always be on their good side. They find it more valuable to do what is best for the well-being of each kid, even if it makes them less popular.
The INTJ mother also believes in constantly learning and growing, which is a great thing they teach their children. They are passionate about learning and this is often something that they try to share with their kids. They strive to help their children find what they are most inspired by, and show them how to learn as much as they can about these subjects.
The Single INTJ Mother
The single INTJ mother can have her own unique challenges, mostly rooted in how others respond to them. They can certainly handle this level of independence, and know how to provide for their family. They will go above and beyond to ensure that their children do not go without simply because they have a single mother. They aren’t afraid of being alone and can certainly measure up when it comes to keeping everything in order. INTJs naturally keep things organized and can handle the day-to-day struggles of being a single mother. Where it can be difficult is handling being a mother who operates in her own way, especially around other mothers with judgmental tendencies.
The Toxic INTJ Mother
While at their best an INTJ mother is truly giving and supportive, there are unhealthy versions of each type. The toxic INTJ mother can be cold and calculating, and doesn’t seem to appreciate their children’s needs for emotional expression. They can often try to control their children, and manipulate them into doing as what they want. They can often be passive aggressive towards their children, and might make comments that can be a bit emotionally scarring. The INTJ who is unhealthy isn’t as understanding and helpful as the well-adjusted INTJ mother.
The Struggles of Being an INTJ Mother
Being an INTJ mother has its own unique struggles, especially when it comes to dealing with other mothers. They are not afraid of being disliked, and put the needs of their children well above the expectations of others. The INTJ will do what they believe is right in order to raise their child into stable and balanced adults. They don’t much care for other people’s opinions when it comes to what they know, and can become frustrated when dealing with mothers who don’t understand this. It can also be challenging when they have children who are vastly different from them, especially children who operate strongly on emotions.
INTJs also need plenty of alone time, which can be challenging for them when they have very young children. They can be rather hard on themselves and strive for a sense of perfection in their actions. This can make it difficult for the INTJ mother, since they often feel like they could always be doing better.
