Enneagram Type 3 Strengths, Talents and Skills: How Enneagram Type Three Excels

Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, and often those things which come natural to us can be attributed to our personality types. While everyone is capable of growing and learning to develop their skills, there are certain things which are likely to come naturally. Understanding where these strengths come from can also help to figure out the careers and hobbies which you will be most drawn to. While learning to strengthen our weaknesses is truly important, it is also important to understand where we will be happiest because of our natural skills and talents.

Each enneagram type has their own set of natural strengths, talents and skills, and so it is important to dig deeper into understanding this part of them. Knowing where you will excel can really help to give you confidence and figure out the areas of your life which you can improve and find comfort in. These strengths can help to figure out an ideal career, but they can also be helpful in other areas. When it comes to relationships it can also benefit to know your own strengths as a means of connecting to people and avoiding falling into your weaker points which can be harmful in some situations. Understanding these strengths can really help be a guide to figuring out the best path to take in so many areas of our lives.

Enneagram Type 3 Traits

The type 3 personality can be somewhat status-conscious, since they are driven by a desire to feel worthy and valuable. They care about how they are seen in society, and so they are constantly pushing themselves to achieve great things. They want to be someone who can accomplish their goals and be impressive to others. They can appear to be workaholics because of this, pushing themselves to always be at their best. They want to be indispensable in the workplace and to those around them, by striving to be someone who sets themselves apart from others. The type 3 person wants to be viewed as truly valuable and special, someone who goes above and beyond to get things done. They are in pursuit of success in hopes of feeling a sense of validation from people. They care about being admired and having people look up to them and their accomplishments. At their best this makes the type 3 inspirational to others, someone who strives to be a good role model and confident in themselves and what they are capable of achieving.

Enneagram Type 3 Strengths

Being driven towards success causes the type 3 personality to push themselves rather hard. They do whatever they must in order to be successful and become the best at whatever they do. This inner drive is something which motivates them in ways which most people struggle to succeed at. They don’t want to feel as if they have failed or are weak in any way, instead they value being able to overcome their struggles and accomplish their most important goals. While they are goal-oriented people, they care about inspiring others as well. They don’t just want to succeed themselves, they want to be someone who can help others reach their goals and motivate them to become better versions of themselves. They care about those around them and want to be seen a certain way to the people they love most. This is part of what drives them to be so successful, since they want to impress the people they truly care for.

They have very practical minds which helps them to accomplish tasks and figure out ways to problem solve. They are good at getting the job done, especially when other people might struggle to find solutions which makes sense. Their ability to be efficient and adapt to struggles, is something which sets them apart from other types. They are accomplished and driven people, who believe in working towards their goals and achieving success.

Type 3 people are often very charismatic as well, since they know how to easily connect with others. They are good at understanding the expectations of those around them and so they can adapt to different social environments. They are confident in themselves and their abilities and this is something which makes them very attractive to others. While they might have a sense of confidence in their abilities, they rarely express this in arrogant ways. Instead they enjoy being able to inspire others and care about helping them achieve their goals as well.

How They Can Improve

While they are motivated and driven people, sometimes their desire to be successful can cause them to be hard on themselves. They struggle to accept failure and will likely push themselves to their breaking point. Sometimes their own strengths can also be tied into their weaknesses, causing the type 2 individual to struggle with learning to be patient with themselves. They don’t really know how to take breaks and cut themselves some slack. They can be extra hard on themselves when they feel like they have failed or haven’t lived up to their own expectations. This makes it difficult for them to learn from mistakes since they won’t accept failing at all. It is important for the Two to learn to accept mistakes without being so hard on themselves. They can become rather competitive when they have a goal in mind, which can alienate those around them as well. Making time for themselves in order to relax and just enjoy the present moment, can be a great way to connect with loved ones and remove some stress from their daily lives.
