The 863 Tritype is a unique personality archetype found in the Enneagram theory. It includes the main traits of Enneagram types 8, 6, and 3. Each type belongs to a different triad:

  1. Type 8: Known as the “Challenger” or “Protector”, eights are assertive, strong and defend against injustice. They strive to be self-reliant and can be perceived as intimidating due to their desire for control.
  2. Type 6: Known as the “Loyalist” or “Skeptic”, sixes are responsible, reliable, and keen on ensuring their environment is safe and secure. They are usually grounded in reality, although they tend to worry and are often prone to anticipating problems that can lead to a certain level of anxiety.
  3. Type 3: Known as the “Achiever” or “Performer”, threes are ambitious, adaptable, and image-conscious. They seek value from achievements and success, often adapting to others’ expectations and desirable standards to feel worthwhile and accepted.

In the context of the 863 Tritype, we can see a person who embodies the assertiveness and desire for control of the eight, the reliability and concern for safety of the six, and the ambition and adaptability of the three. This Tritype would suggest a person who is a strong, motivated leader, driven by success and efficiency, reliable and acutely aware of their surroundings, often anticipating and adapting to potential problems.

Their desire for success and accomplishment might take a social shape, as they would strive to secure their place and be seen as reliable and successful within their community or society in general.

Like any Enneagram Tritype, it’s important to remember that this representation is a generalization. Each 863 Tritype individual will have their unique way of expressing these traits based on personal experiences, nature, and nurture.
