How Each Personality Type Feels About the Presents

How Each Personality Type Feels About the Present

Some people are great at soaking up the present and really enjoy living in the moment. Other people can struggle with this, and actually find themselves incapable of connecting to the physical world around them. Here is how each personality type feelings about the present.

INFJ

INFJs are often much more focused on the future than they are the present moment. They can sometimes become so distracted by their rich inner worlds that they lose track of what is happening around them. They can often lose themselves in their own thoughts and imagination, which will pull them away from the physical world. INFJs have moments where they have suppressed these parts of themselves for so long, and will begin focusing much more on the present. This does not happen often though, and in most cases the INFJ loses track of the physical world rather easily. They need certain hobbies or activities that can help them pull away from their thoughts, and focus more on the present. They simply feel comfortable living inside of their thoughts and imagination, and struggle to pull out of this.

ENFJ

ENFJs are extremely future oriented individuals, and spend much of their energy building a good life for their loved ones. ENFJs are often so distracted by their many activities and errands, that they can lose sight of the present moment. They are often planning things and aggressively trying to care for their loved ones, which often pulls them away from enjoying the present. ENFJs also have active minds, which can cause them to become easily distracted from the physical world. It is completely possible for the ENFJ to become more connected to the present, they just need certain hobbies that help them do this. Connecting with loved ones is a great tool to help the ENFJ live more presently.

INFP

INFPs have extremely vivid imaginations, and unbelievably active minds. They often spend hours just thinking through different thoughts and ideas, and are completely comfortable like this. Having such rich minds actually causes the INFP to lose sight of the present moment. They can become so distracted by their own thoughts, that the INFP simply doesn’t feel the need to live in the moment. They think a lot about the future and the past, and ponder all of these things simultaneously. INFPs can definitely develop a more conscious awareness of the present, as long as they can focus on physical activities that help them remain focused. They can focus best on the present moment if they around people they care for very deeply.

ENFP

ENFPs have very active imaginations, and are constantly thinking a million thoughts at once. Their thoughts never seem to sleep, which often keeps them bouncing from one idea to the next. ENFPs enjoy exploring new things, and dislike when they are stagnant for too long. ENFPs do want to make the most out of life, and enjoy being able to enjoy the moment. They want to remove negativity, and really dislike being around people who are constantly in a bad mood. ENFPs try to remain as positive as possible, which is really helpful as far as moving forward in life. ENFPs can become caught up in their own thoughts sometimes, but they are capable of enjoying the present moment when they want to.

INTJ

INTJs are often very future focused, and enjoy planning and moving forward. They have rather rich inner minds, filled with many different thoughts and ideas. The fact that they have these vivid imaginations, can cause the INTJ to become lost in their own thoughts for a long time. This is part of what makes the INTJ so intelligent and intriguing, but it also causes them to become distracted from the physical world. Their desire to learn and understand things, pulls the INTJ away from what is actually going on around them. They often struggle to focus on the present moment, and prefer to keep themselves moving forward and progressing. INTJs occasionally go through stages in their lives where they are more caught up on the present than anything else, but this is not entirely healthy for them. It is something that takes time and effort for the INTJ to develop this side of themselves. They will do best if they participate in some sort of physical activity in order to connect them more to the present.

ENTJ

ENTJs are extremely future oriented individuals, and are driven to make progress. They are hard-working and prefer to continue growing in order to become successful. This can sometimes cause them to become so distracted in their thoughts and desire to move forward, that they do not live in the present enough. ENTJs do however, enjoy soaking up as much pleasure and happiness from the world around them, as they possible can. They know how to work hard, but also can play hard and make the most out of life. They do become rather focused on their thoughts when they are in work mode, but they are much more capable of focusing on the present than many other intuitive types.

INTP

INTPs have incredibly active minds, filled with vivid imagination and countless ideas. This can cause the INTP to become distracted by their own thoughts, and they will spend hours just running through different scenarios and possibilities. Their intense minds are part of what makes the INTPs such intelligent and logical thinkers, but it does distract them from the physical world around them. They have a hard time focusing on the present moment, and are much more intrigued by the past and the future. This causes the INTP to miss out on certain things, and might alienate them from their relationships. They are certainly capable of becoming more present, and might even benefit from meditation or some sort of physical activity in order to maintain focus.

ENTP

ENTPs are intelligent people, who are constantly focused on their active minds. They enjoy analyzing different things and are constantly learning and growing. They do become distracted by their thoughts sometimes, especially if they spend too much time by themselves. Being alone makes it rather easy for ENTPs to become lost in their minds and lost track of the present. As long as the ENTP is capable of focusing on some sort of activity, they will pull themselves back into the physical world. Connecting with friends and loved ones is a great way to keep the ENTP focused on the present moment.

ISTJ

ISTJs push hard in order to be successful, but this can sometimes cause them to miss out on the present. They enjoy planning things out, and often become distracted by what needs to be done. This causes the ISTJ to miss out on things they enjoy, and pulls them away from the present moment. Even when they are on vacation with their loved ones, ISFJs can become so focused on making sure that everyone else is enjoying themselves that they don’t really live in the moment.

ESFJ

The main focus of the ESFJ is to care for the emotional needs of their loved ones. Having this desire to care for others, can cause the ESFJ to fail to live in the present moment. Their drive to make sure that everyone around them is happy, can leave the ESFJ forgetting to care for themselves. ESFJs simply need to make time to enjoy the present moment, and stop worrying about taking care of everything. Their concern about what is to come, can cause the ESFJ to lose sight of the joys around them.

ISTP

The ESTP is definitely more focused on the physical world around them, then they are anything else.

ISFP

ISFPs are very internal people, and enjoy being by themselves often. They do have rich inner worlds, but at the same time they enjoy focusing on the present moment. ISFPs often feel relaxed and at ease when they can simply soak up the present and enjoy the world around them. They want to enjoy the physical world and everything it has to offer. ISFPs often like spending time in nature, just feeling stimulated by their surroundings.

ESFP

ESFPs are extremely focused on the present, and dislike being held back by too many thoughts of the past or the future. They want to make life fun and exciting, and enjoy soaking up the joy around them. ESFPs are great at making things fun, and are often seen as entertainers. ESFPs have many thoughts and ideas, but prefer to live life to the fullest.
