Here’s How Stubborn Each Personality Type Actually Is

Everyone can be stubborn about certain things, even the most receptive person has to stand their ground on what they believe in. Here is how stubborn each personality type actually is.

INFJ

INFJs can be extremely stubborn when they believe that something is right. INFJs are perfectly capable of bending on things that they feel receptive to, but in some cases they can be rather firm. When the INFJ has made the choice to follow through with something, they dislike other people attempting to force their hand. They can sometimes be rather stubborn, since they have likely taken plenty of time to come to their current conclusion. They have a hard time in situations where they feel like someone is attempting to take away their independence. More than anything else, INFJs can be stubborn when it comes to asking for help. They struggle to depend on others, and do not want to be a burden.

ENFJ

ENFJs can be rather stubborn when it comes to asking for help, and prefer to get everything done themselves. They hate feeling like a burden, and prefer to take on the challenges alone. Everyone needs help sometimes though, and ENFJs have an extremely hard time depending on others. They do not enjoy feeling like they have failed, which often causes them to push themselves further than they really should. ENFJs will often continue pushing through their struggles, even when they have exhausted themselves completely.

INFP

INFPs can be somewhat stubborn when it comes to their morals and ideals. They are open-minded when it comes to knowledge, but are rather immovable when it comes to their moral standards. They know what they believe is right and wrong in their heart, and dislike when people challenge this. INFPs are perfectly okay with people having different beliefs than them, but they dislike when others attempt to alter their opinions. They prefer to have their own space and independence, and can be rather stubborn when it comes to this.

ENFP

ENFPs can be somewhat stubborn when it comes to things that they want. If the ENFP has their heart set on something, they often do whatever it takes to acquire that. They are not past a little complaining or whining in order to get their loved ones to assist them. They are excellent as using their ENFP charm and wit, in order to get what they want. They do not demand much, but when the ENFP has their eyes on something they won’t stop until they get it. ENFPs can be stubborn when it comes to certain things, but are open-minded when it comes to knowledge and information.

INTJ

INTJs can often be perceived as stubborn, since they do not bend very easily. The only reason INTJs are hard to convince of something, is because they have often spent a long time forming their information. They do plenty of research in order to gather the evidence needed to make a well-educated decision. If someone approaches the INTJ with facts and logic, they will be completely receptive to this. They need someone to truly bring enough evidence to the table, in order for the INTJ to change their mind. They are not quite as stubborn as they appear, they simply require plenty of information to make a decision.

ENTJ

ENTJs can sometimes appear stubborn, but they are actually rather receptive to others. They require facts and logic in order to change their mind, or be open to new ideas. ENTJs actually enjoy people who can help them improve, and are completely open to this. ENTJs are much more open to people who they trust and depend on, and will be willing to hear them out much more. ENTJs can be stubborn when it comes to what they want though, and dislike being held back by anyone.

INTP

INTPs are extremely open-minded and enjoy exploring new ideas most of the time. They do have certain things that the INTP holds very important, and they can be stubborn about those things. They are definitely open to new ideas, especially if someone presents them with facts and logic. INTPs simply do not bend when it comes to their morals and what they believe is right. They dislike when someone attempts to alter this, and will often become frustrated by this. INTPs enjoy their independence, and do not want people attempting to take this away from them. They can be stubborn when it comes to their need for space and independence, and will fight against anyone attempting to challenge this.

ENTP

ENTPs are definitely receptive people, and are willing to hear the opinions of others. If someone presents the ENTPs with facts and logic, they will enjoy participating in a healthy debate. They actually enjoy debating about different topics, especially since this helps to learn and grow as a person. ENTPs can be stubborn when it comes to their need for independence, and dislike if someone attempts to hold them back. If the ENTP feels like someone is trying to manipulate them, they will certainly be seen as stubborn and will hold their ground. When it comes to people they trust though, ENTPs are extremely receptive and will hold back their stubbornness.

ISTJ

ISTJs can be rather stubborn, especially when it comes to things they want. They know how they like things, and prefer to get most tasks done themselves. ISTJs often dislike when someone comes into a situation and starts making a mess of it, and will become rather frustrated by this. ISTJs will be rather particular when it comes to their home and living situation, and do not like having people disrupt this. They can definitely be stubborn people, but they are definitely open to communicating about things. They will hear someone out, but that doesn’t mean the ISTJ is going to change their mind.

ESTJ

ESTJs can be extremely stubborn, especially with things they have strong beliefs about. They likely have been doing things a certain way for years, and do not want to change this. ESTJs dislike when someone comes into their home and does not show a certain level of respect for how things are done. They can be extremely particular about their home, and want things in order. ESTJs often have a certain way that they like things to be done, and will become aggravated if people cannot live up to this.

ISFJ

ISFJs have a very hard time changing their beliefs, and might be stubborn in this way. When it comes to their morals and standards, ISFJs do not want to bend. They know what they believe is right, and often dislike when people attempt to change this. ISFJs also know how they like things, especially when it comes to their home and style. They dislike if someone comes into their home and attempts to change how things are done, since the ISFJ likely takes care of most things themselves.

ESFJs can be somewhat stubborn when it comes to how they like things done. They sometimes prefer to do things themselves, in order to ensure that it is done correctly. ESFJs are stubborn but at the same time they can be convinced to change by their loved ones. They know how they want things done, but put the emotions of others above everything else. The ESFJ might argue for a while and attempt to be stubborn, but will give in if someone they care about truly want it that way.

ISTP

ISTPs really are not stubborn people, and enjoy being open-minded. They are extremely laid back, which makes them rather easy to get along with. They don’t mind having things changed last minute and can usually go with the flow. They do not get hung up on the details, which makes them rather easy to be around. ISTPs can be stubborn when it comes to their need for space and independence, but this is completely understandable. They simply need plenty of time by themselves, in order to feel normal and energized.

ESTP

ESTPs can become rather stubborn when it comes to certain information. If the ESTP has spent time researching a topic, they often become convinced that they know it through and through. This can make ESTPs rather stubborn, and they might become argumentative because of it. ESTPs know how they want things done, and might become a bit pushy when it comes to what they want. If the ESTP wants something they likely will become stuck on this, and won’t bend until they get it. ISFPs really aren’t stubborn people, and enjoy being able to go with the flow. They do not want to become hung up on details, and become of this they are often laid back individuals. ISFPs will only become stubborn when it comes to their morals and internal ideals. They are perfectly fine with people having different beliefs from their own, they simply don’t want those people forcing their beliefs upon them. They prefer to have space when it comes to these things, and dislike having their independence taken away from them.

ESFP

ESFPs can be rather stubborn people, especially when it comes to something they want. Once the ESFP gets their heart set on something, it is hard to deter them from it. They will often do whatever it takes to acquire the thing they want, and are not above begging for it. They will often use whatever means possible to convince their loved ones to help them, and won’t give up until they get it. ESFPs can be stubborn because of their in the moment decision making and whims.
