Enneagram Type 3 Male: The Enneagram Type Three Man

The Enneagram is a categorization of personality types based on how people perceive and respond to the world and information they gather, as well their own emotions. This describes 9 different enneagram or personality types, and each one possesses certain core beliefs which are what drives them. These beliefs drive each type and also can be limiting at times, which is why understanding them is so important. It isn’t meant to lock people into those weaknesses or limitations, instead it is meant to help them improve and find ways to maintain a sense of healthy balance in their lives. It also helps to gain a deeper understanding of what motivates the people around you, and helps to comprehend why they contradict themselves at times. Knowing the enneagram gives a clearer sense of these inner motivations and even fears.

Understanding each type is important but it can also be important to understanding the variations. For certain types it might cause them to respond differently to the world being a type 3 man, and how they are perceived by others because of this. They are also known as the achievers, their biggest goal being to feel worthwhile and truly valuable. Understanding how this correlates with being a msle type 3, can help to gain a deeper comprehension of how they respond to the world as well as how they can better manage their own emotions.

Type 3- The Achiever

The type 3 personality can be somewhat status-conscious, since they are driven by a desire to feel worthy and valuable. They care about how they are seen in society, and so they are constantly pushing themselves to achieve great things. They want to be someone who can accomplish their goals and be impressive to others. They can appear to be workaholics because of this, pushing themselves to always be at their best. They want to be indispensable in the workplace and to those around them, by striving to be someone who sets themselves apart from others. The type 3 person wants to be viewed as truly valuable and special, someone who goes above and beyond to get things done. They are in pursuit of success in hopes of feeling a sense of validation from people. They care about being admired and having people look up to them and their accomplishments. At their best this makes the type 3 inspirational to others, someone who strives to be a good role model and confident in themselves and what they are capable of achieving.

The Type 3 Male Values

The healthy version of the type 3 male is highly capable and will likely achieve amazing things in their lives. They are goal-oriented and not afraid of going after things and pushing themselves to succeed. They can certainly be seen as workaholics because of their inner drive and desire to advance, but this is not necessarily viewed as a bad thing. People can often value this type of strong will and inner confidence, wanting to become like the type 3 man. They know how to gain momentum and rise through their careers rather quickly and skillfully. They can work well with other people and know how to be rather charming. They are incredible at crafting first impressions, as they are well aware of how people will perceive them. They can read people well and this helps them to navigate many new situations with ease and confidence. They have a strength and character which causes other people to aspire to be like the typ 3 male. They are not afraid of going after what they want, without making excuses or feeling like they need to hold themselves back from those goals.

The biggest value and goal for the type 3 male is to be someone that others look up to and admire. They do care about how others view them, and so they work hard to be someone who is impressive and admirable in a lot of ways. Being someone who achieves their goals and goes after what they want is often a strength and something which makes the type 3 male fit well into society. They are more than capable of living up to expectations, and being someone who is a go-getter is rarely seen as a bad thing as far as they are concerned. People look up to them and often want to be like the three man, making it easy for them to navigate most situations in life.

The Type 3 Male Struggles

The type 3 male can often struggle with the pressure they put on themselves to be successful. Wanting to constantly be viewed a certain way by others can be overwhelming at times, and they aren’t great at recognizing this in themselves. They don’t put a lot of focus on emotions, instead wanting to be practical and accomplished people. Struggling to connect with emotions makes it hard for them to recognize when they are in need of a break. They can be hard on themselves and this is something which can cause them to burn out if they are not careful. They can become disconnected and feel like no matter what they do they cannot accomplish what they truly want. This is why finding ways to connect with that is important, and the more the type 3 male grows the better they become at understanding their own needs in a more sensitive manner. Taking time to breathe and be confident in themselves, rather than stressing about their mistakes, gives them a much calmer demeanor.

They can be viewed as workaholics, although this isn’t often seen as a bad thing for the three man. This can be viewed as quite the positive quality, although it does add even more pressure to them. They can sometimes be competitive people, and the less they focus on understanding themselves the stronger this becomes. The unhealthy three can become very focused on being the best to the point where they actually alienate people who they are close to. Constantly needing to beat everyone can have the opposite effect that they desire. At their best though, the type 3 male is actually driven and charming in ways which makes everyone aspire to be like them.
