Here’s How You Feel About Reinventing Yourself, Based on Your Personality Type
For some people it is important to reinvent themselves every so often, or else they feel stagnant. To others it is vital to remain who they are while simply growing their strengths and improving their weaknesses. A complete reinventing of oneself can be a bit overwhelming, but some people believe it is important. Here is how you feel about reinventing yourself, based on your personality type.
INFJ
For the INFJ reinventing themselves can be a painful and challenging process, but sometimes it feels necessary. They often hold a strong desire to grow and reinvent their lives, but going through with it can take something happening that pushes them in this direction. INFJs might desire a serious change if they feel stagnant, believing that they need to reinvent themselves and certain things in their lives. While they might feel it is the right choice it can certainly be a difficult thing to move forward with. They often admire the people who are capable of reinventing their lives and often feel like it is a noble step.
ENFJ
ENFJs can sometimes struggle with actually making major changes in their lives and are often more comfortable having things the way they are. While they do enjoy maintaining a sense of balance, ENFJs also might be drawn to the thought of reinventing themselves. If they feel a loss of inspiration then the ENFJ will want to discover new ways to push themselves and possibly reinvent their entire lives. It isn’t always easy to move forward with this decision, but there are times when the ENFJ simply feels like it is necessary. If they feel stagnant then they truly need to find a way to break free from this and reinvent their lives in a more positive way.
INFP
INFPs do believe that there are certain parts of their lives that need to remain the same, mostly this lies with their personal values and morals. As far as reinventing their lives the INFP might believe this is necessary sometimes. If they are feeling stagnant or enduring a complete lack of inspiration the INFP might feel a strong desire to reinvent their lives and even themselves. They might feel like they need to discover new dreams that can inspire their passion and push them in the right direction in their lives. While this step towards reinventing themselves can be challenging, it is often something that the INFP needs when they are feeling a crisis of faith.
ENFP
ENFPs definitely feel that reinventing themselves is important, especially when they are feeling stagnant or lacking in inspiration. ENFPs don’t like feeling stuck in the same place and want to continue to grow and develop themselves. They aren’t afraid of change and often seek it out if their lives feel a bit boring. For the ENFP reinventing themselves doesn’t mean changing their morals, it just means adapting and discovering new dreams and inspirations. Sometimes it simply means reinventing their current lives and situation in order to discover more parts of themselves that have been left dormant.
INTJ
While INTJs believe in constant growth and development, they don’t necessarily feel a need for complete self-reinvention. They do believe that reinventing oneself is important in some cases, especially if that person is feeling stagnant and as if they are going in the wrong direction. INTJs however, have a plan for their lives and usually have a strong sense of direction. The fact that they know where they are going in life and what they want to achieve, often means that they don’t feel a strong need to reinvent themselves or their situation.
ENTJ
ENTJs do believe in the idea of reinventing oneself if it is necessary, but they don’t often feel themselves in this position. ENTJs have a sense of focus and direction in their lives and want to be able to go after their goals. This sense of direction and sureness often means that the ENTJ doesn’t feel a strong need to reinvent themselves. As long as they are going down a path that feels inspired and motivated, they don’t really need to reinvent themselves or their lives. They do value people who feel stagnant and need to do this though, and will certain reinvent themselves if they discover that their path isn’t quite working.
INTP
INTPs definitely value the idea of reinventing themselves, especially if they are feeling stagnant. They might feel a need to reinvent their lives and themselves fairly often, even if they don’t always go through with the process entirely. INTPs don’t like feeling stagnant and want to constantly be moving in a positive direction. They value growth and understanding and so they seek to reinvent themselves if their situation just doesn’t feel inspiring enough. INTPs might reinvent themselves fairly often, but their core values often remain the same.
ENTP
ENTPs definitely value the idea of reinventing themselves, especially if they are feeling stagnant and uninspired. If they feel like they are trapped in a situation they will want to find a way to grow and change and sometimes this means they need to reinvent themselves. ENTPs don’t fear change, sometimes they actually prefer it to the alternative of feeling trapped. For the ENTP reinventing themselves is sometimes necessary in order to really experience life and to push themselves towards more healthy growth.
ISTJ
ISTJs often have strong morals and beliefs, and so the idea of reinventing themselves feels unnecessary. They prefer to focus on their goals and often have a strong sense of direction in their lives. The fact that they know which direction they want to go helps the ISTJ maintain their path with a sense of conviction. They know what they want to achieve and will work hard to accomplish this, which helps them feel more secure in their choices. ISTJs might believe that reinventing oneself is important for some, but rarely do they desire this for themselves.
ESTJ
ESTJs don’t often feel a strong desire to reinvent themselves, since they are often very secure in their choices. ESTJs have a strong sense of direction in their lives, which means they rarely feel a need to reinvent themselves. They know what they want and work rather hard in order to accomplish their goals. They realize that for some people self-reinvention is necessary but they don’t really feel comfortable with this type of change in their own lives.
ISFJ
While ISFJs do believe that for some people reinventing their lives is important, they rarely want this for themselves. They have a strong sense of direction and have very serious goals that they want to accomplish. For the ISFJ it is important to provide for their loved ones and do whatever they can to make them happy. They care about being responsible and focused on building their lives in the right direction, and so they rarely feel lost on their path enough to reinvent themselves.
ESFJ
ESFJs often feel a strong sense of direction, and they aren’t often fans of too much change. Because of this they rarely feel a strong desire to reinvent themselves, unless something truly drastic occurs in their lives. If something upsetting happens which causes the ESFJ to doubt their path in life, they might feel a desire to reinvent themselves in some ways in order to regain inspiration. ESFJs do prefer to have their lives on a path that they understand and are comfortable with, especially since they are responsible people who strive to provide for their loved ones.
ISTP
ISTPs live in the present and often like to take things as they come at them. While ISTPs can seem to bounce around, they do have a desire to accomplish their goals. Sometimes they want to shake things up and might feel like their lives are becoming a bit too stagnant. When this happens the ISTP will be happy to reinvent themselves, or in the very least make a major change in their current situation. They want to be able to experience things and dive into something new, instead of feeling trapped.
ESTP
While ESTPs do enjoy change and sometimes they strive to shake things up, they only reinvent themselves when they feel trapped. If there is a time when they feel like they are losing sight of who they are and what they want in life, the ESTP will feel a strong need to reinvent themselves. It can take being pushed in this direction for them to finally see things clearly, but ultimately they aren’t afraid of reinventing themselves and their entire lives if they need to.
ISFP
ISFPs might feel a need to reinvent themselves if they feel stagnant or trapped in the same position. Moving towards this new life can be challenging but it is something they might feel a strong desire to jump into. ISFPs don’t like feeling like their lives are lacking in inspiration, and when this happens they will feel a need to reinvent themselves and their lives. ISFPs enjoy change sometimes, especially if it helps them find something they are passionate about.
ESFP
ESFPs do enjoy changing things up, and sometimes this means reinventing themselves. They live so much in the present moment that they can often feel comfortable changing at the last minute. If something in their life doesn’t feel right, they might want to reinvent themselves in order to move in a direction that feels more inspired. Sometimes the ESFP is seen changing careers, relationships or even moving somewhere new. They enjoy being able to reinvent their lives in order to move in a direction that makes them happy.
