Does the Feeling of Newness Excite You, Based on Your Personality Type

For some people anything which is new can feel truly exciting and inspiring. For others it is more enjoyable to stick with the comforts of what they know and love. Here is how excited you are by newness, based on your personality type.

INFJ

INFJs can sometimes find themselves intrigued by the idea of newness and cutting edge ideas. They do become interested in these ideas but for them it often becomes more in theory than in actuality. For the INFJ their comfort zone is often the place they feel happiest being, since too much change and newness can be unnerving. It isn’t that they are against change, they just don’t need newness all of the time to feel rewarded or happy.

ENFJ

ENFJs sometimes find themselves drawn to newness, and the intrigue of it. But they do become drained by constant change and bouncing around to new things. ENFJs enjoy their comfort zones and being able to find a schedule and means of getting things done. They often have so many things they are juggling at once and so taking on too much newness or change can set them off balance. This doesn’t mean ENFJs cannot be interested in some feelings of newness though, especially with the right people.

INFP

INFPs do enjoy newness and really dislike too much stagnancy in their lives. The feeling of newness can be exciting for them and leave them wanting to dive into something with their whole heart. INFPs enjoy bouncing around a bit, since they really hate feeling stuck in the same position for too long. For the INFP change is rewarding sometimes, especially when they get the chance to really experience something which inspires them and helps them open up to something.

ENFP

ENFPs definitely enjoy newness, since they really hate feeling stagnant or stuck in the same place. When they get stuck in some sort of schedule it can be draining on them, even if they don’t fully realize this themselves. They like being able to experience new things and bounce around in different directions. ENFPs want to feel open to newness and enjoy being able to let these things change and inspire them.

INTJ

INTJs do enjoy newness when it comes to learning about things and dealing with new technology. While they enjoy this type of newness, INTJs often find themselves wanting to stick with what they know and the things which are more scheduled and logical. They do enjoy learning about new things though, since INTJs don’t like allowing their minds to become stagnant. For them it is good to keep learning and absorbing as much information as they possibly can.

ENTJ

ENTJs do enjoy newness when it comes to learning about things and absorbing information. For them newness can be inspiring since it gives them a chance to learn about things and continue moving forward. ENTJs are interested in growth and want to be able to continue building their lives towards something they want. For the ENTJ newness can be good but they don’t require it from things they are committed to. When ENTJs make a commitment it means something to them and so in those instances they don’t require change or newness.

INTP

INTPs do enjoy newness, since they don’t like feeling stagnant. They want to be able to bounce around and experience new and exciting things. They don’t like feeling as if they are standing still and want to be able to absorb information and figure out what inspires and challenges them in the right ways. For the INTP feeling as if they won’t be able to experience something which excites them and instead they are stuck doing the same things, this is truly draining for them.

ENTP

ENTPs definitely find themselves excited by newness, and so they enjoy being able to dive into something wholly. For the ENTP being able to bounce around and live their lives with more excitement, is truly rewarding. They don’t enjoy stagnancy and for them newness gives them a chance to learn and continue to grow in different directions. Newness means being able to challenge themselves and take on something which might feel a little unnerving at times.

ISTJ

ISTJs don’t need newness to feel inspired, and sometimes this does the opposite of excite them. They enjoy comfort and understanding and want things to be in order rather than all over the place. For the ISTJ it is more rewarding to have things done the right way and to feel a sense of comfort in the fact that they have maintained a schedule and organization. For them it is better to have things in their life the way they want them, rather than all over the place.

ESTJ

ESTJs don’t really enjoy newness or have this desire to bounce around in different directions. Instead they prefer to experience things with a sense of order and well within their comfort zones. They care about their loved ones and want to be able to provide for them and take care of them. For the ESTJ newness can mean change which can cause them to have to adjust and move things around in their lives.

ISFJ

ISFJs aren’t usually fans of newness, they enjoy being within their comfort zone. They want to be able to hold onto their commitments and make things work without bouncing around. For the ISFJ someone who constantly needs newness in their lives can feel a bit insincere and untrustworthy. They also don’t need constant change and for them a sense of understanding and even a more scheduled life, is actually rewarding.

ESFJ

ESFJs don’t mind newness from time to time, but it isn’t something they need constantly. For them newness can be exciting in moderation, but they also enjoy comfort and understanding. ESFJs enjoy having things a certain way, and don’t need to seek out constant change to feel happy. They value their commitments and won’t trade in what they have for something new and thrilling.

ISTP

ISTPs definitely enjoy newness and find themselves excited by change. They don’t like things being constantly the same and can become bored rather easily when this happens. They enjoy change and being able to seek out things which challenge and inspire them. For ISTPs it i exciting to experience something new, instead of monotony which leaves them feeling trapped.

ESTP

ESTPs definitely enjoy a sense of newness in their lives or else they become stagnant. ESTPs want to be able to jump into something new with a sense of eagerness and excitement. For them when things get shaken up a bit it is actually thrilling and gives them a chance to challenge themselves. ESTPs might seem anxious when this happens, but in truth they enjoy the excitement.

ISFP

ISFPs love the excitement of when things are new, and so they don’t like feeling stuck in some sort of schedule or comfort zone. For them diving into something new helps them feeling challenged in a way which is rewarding and exciting. For the ISFP stagnancy is the worst thing and this takes away their hope that they might experience things which will bring them a sense of joy and love.

ESFP

ESFPs do enjoy newness which is why they often bounce around from one thing to the next. ESFPs are excited by a sense of newness, and want to be able to dive into something headfirst. They don’t need things to be the same all of the time and often feel a bit trapped and bored when this happens. For the ESFP newness is definitely exciting and is actually very rewarding.
