Here’s How Submissive You Can Be, Based on Your Personality Type

While some people like to always be in control of the situation, others can be a bit submissive in the right situations. Sometimes this is simply because they are more passive, other times they prefer to avoid arguments. For some this is because they truly want to please their loved ones and will do anything to make them happy. Here is how submissive you can be, based on your personality type.

INFJ

INFJs are usually capable of remaining in control when it is important to them, and are not afraid of standing their ground. While they can maintain a stubborn side with some things, INFJs can also be submissive towards the right people. When they truly and deeply love someone the INFJ can sometimes submit to their wishes and desires, wanting to do whatever they can to please them. This giving nature can make them appear more submissive than they actually are.

ENFJ

ENFJs aren’t usually submissive people, since they prefer to maintain a sense of control in their lives. They are constantly taking care of others, wanting to do whatever they can to keep everything juggling at once. ENFJs can sometimes be a bit stubborn and even bossy in some situations, which makes them appear much less submissive. While ENFJs stand their ground in most situations, they are very giving and caring people. When they love someone deeply they can sometimes be more submissive towards this person, seeking to please them in whatever way possible.

INFP

INFPs can sometimes appear more submissive than they actually are. They are kind people who don’t like to stir up trouble and can sometimes avoid confrontation. While INFPs dislike getting into unnecessary arguments, they aren’t necessarily submissive people. They simply don’t like being stubborn with things that don’t matter to them, but will definitely stand their ground on the things that do matter. INFPs can actually be rather strong-willed when it comes to their inner morals and beliefs, and will definitely not be submissive.

ENFP

ENFPs really aren’t submissive people, and would much rather stand their ground with things. They can actually be a bit stubborn when it comes to their beliefs and their desires in life. ENFPs aren’t necessarily aggressive people, they just don’t want to back down with the things that matter to them. They can seem submissive in some situations, but that is often because they aren’t invested or emotionally connected to those things or people. ENFPs are strong-willed when things are important to them, and they aren’t afraid of speaking their mind.

INTJ

INTJs are definitely not submissive people, and often stand their ground with the things they believe in and desire. They go after what they want, and are often very sure of what they know. INTJs spend a lot of time researching and learning about different topics, since they truly don’t want to be ignorant about anything important. This helps the INTJ be sure of themselves and what they want, and so they go after their goals with a more aggressive style. INTJs are not submissive people, and only back down or change their minds if something is proven to them with evidence.

ENTJ

ENTJs are definitely not submissive people, instead they can be a bit aggressive and even occasionally domineering. When they want something they go after it without allowing anything to stand in their way. ENTJs know what they want in life, and often have many goals that they want to accomplish. They are also sure of the things they know and don’t allow others to make them back down. ENTJs aren’t afraid of a challenge and they definitely aren’t afraid of confrontation.

INTP

INTPs really aren’t submissive people, even though they aren’t often seen as domineering. They simply don’t back down with the things they know to be true, and spend a lot of time researching and learning. INTPs will definitely want to inform others of the truth, and can be a bit strong-willed when they are expressing the facts and being accurate. INTPs aren’t always the most verbal people, so they might appear more submissive than they are. Once people engage them they realize that INTPs stand up for what they know and believe in.

ENTP

ENTPs really aren’t submissive people, and will often stand up for what they believe in. ENTPs actually enjoy getting involved in debates, and so they aren’t afraid of confrontation. The fact that they enjoy debates makes the ENTP much less submissive around others. They sometimes search for a topic to battle about, enjoying the back and forth even if they don’t actually agree with their own words. ENTPs don’t submit about the things they know to be true, unless someone presents them with irrefutable evidence.

ISTJ

ISTJs really aren’t submissive people and are more likely seen as aggressive. They go after what they want and don’t like to back down when they have goals in mind. ISTJs don’t allow others to stand in their way or push them around, especially when it comes to something important to them. They can be stubborn, they just don’t like being pushed around by people. ISTJs are giving and kind to their loved ones, but they still express the truth very directly.

ESTJ

ESTJs are not submissive people, not by any definition of the word. They go after what they want and can actually be a bit aggressive when they are trying to accomplish their goals. ESTJs don’t back down to people, especially when something is important to them. They value hard work and efficiency and strive for a sense of excellence. ESTJs care about their loved ones and work hard to provide for them, but they still speak honestly and factually about things.

ISFJ

ISFJs can be submissive when it comes to their loved ones and the people that mean the most to them. They strive to provide for others and want desperately to please them, and because of this ISFJs can be a bit submissive. They stand up for the things they truly believe in and their submissive qualities don’t make them complete pushovers. They simply want to make others happy and will do anything for someone they love.

ESFJ

ESFJs aren’t normally submissive people, but they can be for the ones they love. They can be stubborn about the things they believe in, but they do strive to make others happy. When the ESFJ truly cares for someone they will go out of their way to please them and make them happy. They can be submissive when they are trying to make someone else happy, and would often do anything for their loved ones.

ISTP

ISTPs aren’t submissive people, even though they don’t always desire to get in the middle of things. They would often rather be independent with their choices, and not have the pressure of others. They don’t back down when they believe in something, and really aren’t submissive people. ISTPs utilize facts in order to make decisions in life, and so they don’t bend easily when they have done research and know that something is true.

ESTP

ESTPs really aren’t submissive people most of the time, except with someone they love deeply. They can sometimes be submissive when they really care about someone, and want to make them happy. They can develop a soft spot with certain people and have a hard time standing up to them. ESTPs can become internally frustrated by this though, since they are actually fairly stubborn people when they want something.

ISFP

ISFPs like to follow their hearts and are often seen as free-spirits. While they can be stubborn about their beliefs, there are times when they can be a bit submissive. They don’t enjoy confrontation, and will often try to avoid this with people who are overly aggressive. ISFPs would simply rather live their own lives without having to be around people who constantly want to argue or debate. They can be submissive when they love someone or admire them, wanting to make them proud.

ESFP

ESFPs aren’t usually seen as submissive people, but they do have a submissive side to them. When they care deeply about someone they can sometimes bend to what they want. ESFPs can also be convinced of things sometimes, not wanting to upset certain people. Most of the time though the ESFP will be stubborn and go after the things they want in life. They don’t like backing down when something is important to them, and will follow their hearts.
