Here’s What Your Sense of Purpose is Like, Based on Your Personality Type

Some people have a very clear purpose for their lives from a young age, while others find that the picture is a bit fuzzy. Here is what your sense of purpose is like, based on your personality type.

INFJs have a strong sense of inner purpose and often believe they are meant to do something great with their lives. They want to make a difference in the world around them, and truly find a way to positively affect people. INFJs are compassionate people who believe in doing what is right, and who strive for a sense of goodness. They do believe in serving this larger purpose, but often struggle when it comes to figuring out their path towards accomplishing this. It can be hard to balance the thoughts inside of their minds, and actually taking action to fulfill their sense of purpose.

ENFJs definitely do have a strong sense of purpose, and have very serious goals in life. They work hard to provide for others, and don’t want to fail at their tasks. ENFJs believe in doing everything they can to make a real difference, even if it is in various smaller ways. For ENFJs it is important to push themselves in order to care for the well-being of their loved ones. ENFJs can often take on many different tasks at once in hopes of being able to really help those around them. They make a conscious effort to fulfill a sense of purpose and to help people improve their lives.

INFPs definitely believe that they are meant to serve a greater purpose, and hope to make a real difference in the world. While INFPs have a strong desire to make a difference they can struggle when it comes to knowing which steps to take. INFPs can become easily distracted by their inner minds, which can keep them from serving the purpose they truly believe they are meant to. They don’t live their lives with a constant plan looming over them, and prefer to experience things with more of a freedom. INFPs do believe they are meant to serve a great purpose, they just take some time to figure out what that is.

ENFPs definitely have a strong sense of purpose, but sometimes they can find themselves going off in different directions. They might have an idea of where they want their lives to go, but can become distracted by many new experiences. ENFPs want their lives to be filled with excitement and have a strong desire to truly experience as much as they can. Living their lives in a stagnant position is one of the worst possible outcomes for the ENFP. Their purpose is often to make a difference in the world, but also to make a difference in their own world by growing and becoming a better version of themselves.

INTJs definitely possess a sense of purpose in their lives, and a big part of that is to continuously search for the truth. INTJs truly dislike ignorance, and want to find a way to be as knowledgeable as possible. They are constantly striving to learn as much as they can and to continue growing as an individual. They also believe that their larger purpose is to bring knowledge to others, and to find people who are open to learning and removing ignorance within themselves. INTJs feel like they have made a real difference if they can reach people and help prevent the spreading of false information.

ENTJs do have a strong sense of purpose, and are always working hard to achieve their goals. ENTJs want to make a difference by learning and constantly growing within themselves. They believe that if they can create an empire of sorts, if can make a difference for their loved ones and also be something that others can aspire to. ENTJs do want to make a difference in the world around them, which is why they set so many goals for themselves. They know that by always searching for knowledge and internal growth, that they can set a positive example for others.

INTPs do possess this inner sense of purpose, but can sometimes struggle to figure out what it is. They are always hungry for knowledge and find themselves constantly trying to improve their minds. They are logical and highly analytical people, who can really look outside of the box. This way of thinking makes the INTPs rather unique people, which makes it clear that they are meant for truly great things. Their minds are always running through so many possibilities that in can be difficult for them to peg down one particular path to choose.

ENTPs have a strong sense of purpose, even if they aren’t always sure where it might lead them. ENTPs are always searching for new experiences in order to grow and learn more about the world around them. They aren’t afraid of jumping into something a bit reckless, especially if they can benefit from it in the end. ENTPs want to do something meaningful with their lives, even if that meaning is to discover something completely new and surprising.

ISTJs do have a very strong and clear sense of purpose for their lives, even if it isn’t on a larger scale. They know what they want to do, and are more than capable of going after it. ISTJs don’t believe in letting things come to them, and work hard to make things happen. They want to be sure to provide for their loved ones, and want to create a life that they can be proud of. ISTJs do have a strong sense of purpose for their lives, and the lives of their loved ones as well.

ESTJs do have a strong sense of purpose for their lives and the lives of their loved ones. They have an often clear plan for how they want things to go, and will work hard to make this happen. They are very focused and driven people who know that they need to work hard in order to accomplish their goals. The ESTJs sense of purpose might not be to fulfill some greater good for the world, but they do want to make a difference for the people closest to them. They are loyal people who want to ensure that their loved ones are cared for and happy.

ISFJs do have a very clear sense of purpose for their lives, even if that isn’t to fulfill some greater sense of meaning. For ISFJs it is important to focus on achieving their goals in order to provide for their loved ones. ISFJs are very focused on family and ensuring that those closest to them are happy. While they might not desire to achieve some lofty accomplishments, they do want to make a difference for the ones closest to them. This sense of purpose helps the ISFJ work hard and push themselves towards a better future.

ESFJs do have a sense of purpose, but it is often focused on their loved ones. They want to build a life that the people around them can be proud of, and strive to make a difference for them. ESFJs work hard to make their loved ones happy and want to create a sense of harmony in their environment. They are always striving to meet the needs of those closest to them, and this often becomes their strongest sense of purpose in life.

ISTPs can appear to lack a sense of purpose in life, since they are seen bouncing from one thing to the next rather quickly. For ISTPs it is important to truly experience life by living it in the present moment. They don’t want to become too caught up on the future, and instead want to soak up the moment. ISTPs might not have some clear larger purpose they want to fulfill, but they do have a desire to accomplish something meaningful. They simply don’t have this idea in their minds from a young age, and would rather let life surprise them.

ESTPs don’t often have a clear purpose from a young age, and would rather take life as it comes at them. They do want to work hard and accomplish greatness to some extent, but they aren’t always sure what that will be. ESTPs would rather live in the moment instead of trying to plan out their every move. ESTPs do want to achieve great things in life, but they likely need time to figure out what it is they want to do.

ISFPs believe in following their hearts and living in the present moment, and don’t want to become stressed about the future. They do often have this internal sense of purpose, but they aren’t quite sure what it means to them. It takes time for the ISFP to figure out what their true purpose in life really is, but they are often very sure that it will come to them eventually. They would rather let the world show them what they are meant to accomplish, instead of trying to control their surroundings.

ESFPs enjoy living in the moment and don’t want to become stressed about what their greater purpose in life might be. They often feel like they are meant to do something great, but aren’t quite sure what that might be. ESFPs need time to figure things out and want to truly experience life before following some strict path for their future. ESFPs would rather let life come at them, and figure things out as they go along.
