Here’s How Much Fortitude You Have, Based on Your Personality Type

Fortitude is what helps us power through the hard things in life, even when we feel like giving up. Some people are naturally made with a stronger sense of perseverance, while others need to work at it a bit. Here is how much fortitude you have, based on your personality type.

INFJ

INFJs often have more fortitude than people realize, and always seem to push through somehow. Even when they are faced with overwhelming difficulties, they simply find a way to overcome. INFJs can sometimes retreat inward though, as a way of healing and building their own strength. Their sense of fortitude comes from within, but it can be brought to light by the people they love. For INFJs knowing that they have a reason to fight and be strong, helps them realize that there is more out there than just themselves and that they need to continue to make things better.

ENFJ

ENFJs have immense amounts of fortitude, and somehow always push through their struggles. They are the ones who take on everyone else’s problems, simply because they care so deeply. They strive to help their loved ones and want to improve their lives. For the ENFJ it is important to be strong, or else things would likely fall apart around them. They take on so many things that they often feel a responsibility to get everything done and to take care of those around them.

INFP

INFPs definitely have more fortitude than people often realize, and they are often underestimated. INFPs can be viewed as emotional, which makes some misguided people peg them as weak. While INFPs do have a strong connection with their inner emotions, this is something that often makes them stronger. They are not afraid of these feelings like some types might be, instead they work through them and find ways to push on in their lives. The INFP might feel things deeply, but this is exactly what gives them a sense of fortitude and strength to persevere.

ENFP

ENFPs definitely do their best to push through, even when things are hard. They often try to keep a smile on their faces even when they have a lot on their minds. ENFPs can definitely put themselves under a lot more stress than people realize, they simply don’t want to dwell on negative things if they can avoid it. ENFPs often find a way to go around the things that make their lives unhappy, and work to find joy where they can. They will take pleasure in the little things, and their sense of hope often helps give them strength.

INTJ

INTJs are built with plenty of fortitude within them, which is why they don’t believe in giving up. INTJs often push themselves through any struggle ahead of them, and work to overcome. When the INTJ is faced with a problem they often take it as a chance to problem solve and strategize in order to figure out the best plan. They are well aware that in life they will face challenges, and are not likely to cave simply because times get a bit harder than expected.

ENTJ

ENTJs are absolutely full of fortitude, and will not crumble just because things get a bit challenging. They take on new challenges constantly, trying to ready themselves for whatever comes up next. ENTJs are naturally good at strategizing and will work to come up with a great plan to overcome their trials. When they find something in their path that seems a bit difficult, the ENTJ will simply take a step back and try to logically find a solution, instead of falling apart.

INTP

INTPs often surprise people with their ability to overcome challenges, but there are times when they simply need to retreat. Their need for time alone is often what helps the INTP recharge and tap into their inner strength. They enjoy problem solving and will often think things over in their minds for a while so that they can come up with the best possible solution. While INTPs are often strong people, they have a tendency to think much more than they act.

ENTP

ENTPs certainly have fortitude when they are faced with challenges, but sometimes they become bored in these situations. ENTPs don’t like feeling cornered or trapped in the same stagnant position, which can lead them to bounce around rather often. When the ENTP feels like they are being forced into something, they will often feel a strong need to back away. While they do possess fortitude with the things that truly matter to them, they also aren’t afraid of moving on when it feels right.

ISTJ

ISTJs often possess a great deal of fortitude, which is why they do not believe in giving up. They will work to overcome any challenge placed in front of them, not matter how hard it might seem. ISTJs simply want to be capable and strong individuals, who can be depended on by others. They strive to get things done as efficiently as possible, and will certainly use their inner strength to press forward.

ESTJ

ESTJs often have a lot of fortitude within them, and believe in doing whatever it takes to get the job done. They don’t back down from a challenge, instead they work to beat whatever is in front of them. ESTJs value efficiency and because of this they constantly strive to be the best at everything they do. Even when things seem too difficult to face, the ESTJ will somehow find a way to grab their inner strength and persevere.

ISFJ

ISFJs do often possess more fortitude than people recognize, simply because they appear gentle and kind. While ISFJs do care deeply for others, they don’t like to back down from a problem in front of them. They don’t want to give up, especially when their loved ones need them. If the ISFJ is facing a struggle that is personal and does not affect others, there are times when they might simply walk away from it. But when their challenges are for the well-being of their loved ones, the ISFJ will certainly grasp ahold of their inner fortitude.

ESFJ

ESFJs possess have a great amount of fortitude within them, often more than they even realize. When their loved ones are in need they will do whatever it takes to protect them and take care of them. The ESFJ will push themselves past their own limits in order to ensure that everyone is taken care of and happy Even when the ESFJ is feeling overwhelmed, they will somehow grasp their inner strength and overcome it. There are times when they do often need to retreat, simply to regain this sense of fortitude so that they can persevere.

ISTP

ISTPs do possess fortitude when it is needed, and can often overcome things others won’t even recognize. They simply don’t feel the need to flash this inner strength, they simply maintain it in their own personal way. ISTPs know how to push through when there is a challenge in front of them, and can often do this on their own without constantly needing to lean on others for help. ISTPs are strong-willed people, who know how to solve problems when they want to.

ESTP

ESTPs are their own unique people, who possess strength and fortitude when they truly need it. There are times when they might appear to be giving up, but this is not the case. They simply know when they need to take a step back, and don’t want to waste their energy in a situation that displeases them. ESTPs want to live their lives in the present and don’t get hung up on making choices based on what others want for them.

ISFP

While ISFPs do not like backing down, there are times when they feel a need to avoid certain struggles. They dislike conflict, which can be a reason why they don’t want to face certain challenges in life. ISFPs would rather enjoy the present, and dislike being hung up on things they cannot change. While they do have a sense of fortitude inside of them, they only want to use this strength when it feels right for them

ESFP

ESFPs can often appear lighthearted and fun on the surface, but they are strong people. Even when their lives seem to be a mess they somehow find a way to grasp their inner sense of fortitude and overcome what lies ahead. While to others the ESFP might not seem to have a strong sense of fortitude, it is something that lies within them in a very personal way. They will find this strength when they need it, and can overcome many challenges on their own.
