Here’s How Materialistic You Can Be, According to Your Personality Type

While some people are drawn to material things, others find that sort of attitude distasteful. Here’s how materialistic you can be, based on your personality type.

 

INFJ

INFJs are not very materialistic people, and are much more interested in things that hold a deeper value. They can however become interested in certain modern items, maybe tech or things that connect them to their favorite hobbies. While INFJs aren’t completely avoidant of consumerism, they don’t hold much value in material things. They are much more interested in their friendships and connections, and value people above everything else. INFJs are much more interested in things that hold a deeper and more sincere meaning to them and their loved ones.

ENFJ

ENFJs are not materialistic people, since they value connections over things. While ENFJs aren’t focused on material things, they do enjoy aesthetics here and there. They don’t put items above people, but at the same time they like to have nice things. ENFJs enjoy being able to acquire the things they want in life, especially for their loved ones. They don’t mind having goals, but ultimately they don’t believe that anything material is more important than their loved ones or their deeper goals.

INFP

INFPs are definitely not materialistic people, they are much more interested in things that hold some sort of deeper meaning. INFPs don’t want to become focused on trivial things that aren’t truly sincere. They are honest people who seek to serve a greater purpose in their lives. INFPs are drawn to things that they feel deeply moved by and connected to, especially when it comes to connections with other people. INFPs simply don’t enjoy when people are focused on shallow things too much, and would prefer to avoid those types.

ENFP

ENFPs are not materialistic people and are much more interested in things that truly mean something to them. While ENFPs are not materialistic, they do care about material things to some extent. They simply enjoy being able to explore new things, and want to feel free to dive into whatever excites them. ENFPs like being able to have nice things since they want to always feel stimulated. ENFPs do enjoy certain objects and nice items, but they don’t believe they are as important as their loved ones. They hold people far above any material objects, and believe in always remembering what is important.

 

INTJ

INTJs are definitely not materialistic people, but they do enjoy having nice things. INTJs simply want to be able to reach their goals and acquire the items that interest or excite them in some way. They want to be able to have those nice things, and often enjoy purchasing up to date items in order to keep themselves entertained. While INTJs might want these nice things, they certainly don’t hold a deeper value to them than they should. INTJs like having access to items, especially tech that might help them broader their knowledge in some way.

ENTJ

ENTJs are focused and driven people who are always working hard to accomplish their goals. They enjoy having access to new things, but mostly because it proves to them that they have worked to move closer to their goals. ENTJs want to be impressive people and enjoy being able to have all of the things they want in life. While they do value material items and their purpose in life, ENTJs don’t hold them above the truly important things. For ENTJs the most important thing is loyalty and efficiency, which are well above material items.

INTP

INTPs are definitely not materialistic people, but they do enjoy having nice things. INTPs can sometimes be seen as the people who are excited by the latest tech, but this is only because they want to experience everything. INTPs enjoy having access to knowledge in every form, and dislike feeling restrained. While they might care about certain material items, they don’t value them above their loved ones or the things that truly matter. INTPs are certainly not materialistic people, and don’t value items above their ideals and morals.

ENTP

ENTPs are not truly materialistic people, but they do enjoy having nice things. ENTPs simply want to feel free to do what they please and want to have access to everything. They don’t believe that objects are more important than their ideals and morals, but they do enjoy being able to explore everything. ENTPs are adventurous people who are always trying to explore new things and want to seek out knowledge. Having access to modern tech and new items helps the ENTP learn through experiences.

 

ISTJ

ISTJs do care about having nice things, but they don’t hold a deeper value for them. ISTJs simply want to provide for their loved ones and believe that it is important to work hard to achieve their goals. They are always pushing themselves to improve and believe in doing what is best for their family. ISTJs realize that having certain material things is important if they want to live a positive lifestyle. At the same time ISTJs have deep inner morals which are far more important to them than objects.

ESTJ

ESTJs can be somewhat focused on material things, simply because it can be a representation of their accomplishments. They are always working hard to achieve their goals and they want to be able to share this with others. ESTJs simply want to have nice things and believe it is important to provide for their loved ones. They don’t want to fall behind and work hard to be the best at whatever they do. When it comes to material things ESTJs simply want to have the best in order to express how hard they work.

ISFJ

ISFJs don’t value material items over their loved ones, but they do believe it is important to have nice things. They simply want to make their loved ones proud and believe it is important to acquire certain things in life. ISFJs want their loved ones to be happy, and will try to provide for them as best they can. Having nice things is a good way to express to others what they have accomplished, and ISFJs can sometimes get caught up on appearances in this way.

ESFJ

ESFJs care deeply about their loved ones and simply want to work hard in order to make them proud. ESFJs are not materialistic and value their loved ones far above any physical objects. While ESFJs don’t put a high value on material items, they do enjoy having nice things. They simply want to provide for their loved ones and dislike feeling like they are lacking in any way. If someone the ESFJ cares for wants something, they will go above and beyond to acquire it.

 

ISTP

ISTPs are not really seen as materialistic people, since they are introspective and internally focused. They do feel connected to the physical world though, so they enjoy certain aesthetics. They don’t put an unnecessary value on objects, they simply enjoy being able to explore things that excite them. Certain physical items can be stimulating and challenging for ISTPs, which is what interests them.

ESTP

ESTPs are very attached to the physical world, which is why they can appear materialistic sometimes. This is simply because ESTPs are connected to objects and hold sentimental value with those things. They enjoy being able to give and receive gifts, and take that as a sign that someone cares. ESTPs do feel connected to physical things, and want to have nice items. They often value their own worth based on their ability to acquire certain items, since it means they have reached their goals.

ISFP

ISFPs aren’t materialistic and believe in things that hold a deeper meaning, but at the same time they do enjoy physical items. ISFPs are connected to the physical world and are drawn to aesthetics. They care about things that hold a sentimental value to them, and items often remind them of certain times or people from the past. While ISFPs believe that their morals are more important than material things, they do enjoy having nice things.

ESFP

While ESFPs might not be overly materialistic people, they do enjoy the physical world. ESFPs simply like being able to have nice things and feel more connected to something they can touch and hold. For ESFPs material items can hold sentimental value, since they remind them of certain people or times from their past. They definitely feel connected to material things, since they are physically oriented people.
