Here’s How Good You Are At Investigating, Based on Your Personality Type

Some people are naturally good at investigating a person or situation, and find themselves skilled at uncovering information. Sometimes this can seem a bit much to others, but being able to investigate something or someone is definitely something that requires skill. Here is how good you are at investigating, based on your personality type.

INFJ

INFJs are often surprisingly good at researching and investigating people, especially when they are curious about them. When the INFJ takes an interest in someone they often want to learn about who they are, but sometimes they aren’t quite ready to ask. This can mean they want to investigate and learn about them, and they are often good at uncovering the truth. INFJs can also do this to protect someone they love, and will research anyone who gets too close to them. INFJs are simply protective and guarded people, so sometimes they need to do a little investigating to understand someone’s motives.

ENFJ

ENFJs often feel the need to research people in order to learn more about them. They are often good at investigating situations and people, especially since they are empathetic people. ENFJs can navigate a situation in order to figure out the details and learn more about what is going on. They use their connection with people in order to truly understand, and are good at picking up on little changes in others. For the ENFJ it is often easier to investigate people, since they are naturally good at understanding others.

INFP

INFPs try to let their intuition guide them with most things, instead of constantly investigating people. However, INFPs are very curious people, who enjoy diving in and learning as much as they can about people and things that they are passionate about. When the INFP truly wants to understand someone, they try to get the information directly from them. When the INFP connects with someone on a deeper level they often find it easy to learn about them, since others tend to open up to them in these situations.

ENFP

ENFPs are often very observant people, with a natural curiosity. Their ability to pay attention to what they see often helps them to be good at investigating people and situations. ENFPs are usually the person who can pick up on the small and surprising details of a story, which helps them uncover the truth and predict the ending. ENFPs can be rather observant and alert people, even though most others don’t realize this about them. They will investigate someone if they feel it is necessary, but most of the time they like being surprised and letting their heart guide them.

INTJ

INTJs are often excellent at investigating, especially since they believe in being as aware as possible. They don’t like walking into anything ignorant, so INTJs often spend a lot of time researching and learning. They will also be capable of taking in the information and will filter this through their own internal intuition. This helps the INTJ understand what is truly going on, and if they can trust someone or something. When they are interested in someone they often seek to investigate them, which can seem a bit intense at times. They simply want to learn everything they can, partly because they can be guarded people.

ENTJ

ENTJs can definitely be skilled investigators, especially when something leaves them feeling curious. They will take their time to uncover the information in front of them, and will work to figure out the most likely conclusions. ENTJs will investigate a person or a situation if they have doubts about what is actually going on. They don’t like being left in the dark, and would rather be prepared by knowing the truth. When others have trouble figuring out the answers, the ENTJ will often do whatever it takes to figure out what they need to know.

INTP

INTPs are often great at uncovering information and will put together many different possible conclusions. This can help them as far as being good at investigating people and situations, but they can get hung up on making too many assumptions. INTPs will piece together the facts and are often good at uncovering more information than most people. Where they sometimes become tripped up, is when the INTP jumps to added conclusions trying to piece together information that might be missing completely.

ENTP

ENTPs are curious people who enjoy being able to research and investigate new situations and even people. They often are more excited when the answers aren’t clear, since they like being able to investigate and uncover information. ENTPs can sometimes come up with possible conclusions which aren’t entirely true, simply because they want to explore the options. This can definitely cause them to go down a different path, but it almost always leads them to the right answer in the end.

ISTJ

ISTJs often try to remain focused on what is important to them and don’t like becoming distracted. They can definitely fit into jobs that require investigating though, since ISTJs are good at looking at information that is in front of them. They can piece together all of the facts and work to come up with a conclusion that ties this together. While ISTJs can be skilled at investigating when it matters to them, they rarely do this simply for the fun of it.

ESTJ

ESTJs are very focused and driven people, who work hard to achieve their goals in life. When the ESTJ wants to get something done they don’t let anything stand in their way. If the ESTJ does decide to work in a field that requires some level of investigating, they will work to be the best at this job. For them it is about taking pride in their work and not allowing anything to hold them back. They don’t often waste their energy investigating things simply for the fun of it, and would rather focus on what can improve their lives and their situation.

ISFJ

ISFJs can often take things at face value, instead of trying to investigate some hidden truth or meaning. They would rather focus on getting things done and ensuring the welfare of their loved ones. ISFJs don’t need to constantly research or investigate things, and are rarely overly skeptical people. They want to live their lives focused on the positive things, and work hard to build a life that they can be proud of. This doesn’t mean ISFJs aren’t capable of investigating things, they just aren’t all that curious.

ESFJ

ESFJs rarely find themselves interested in investigating things or people, and would rather focus on what matters most to them. They can definitely become adept in careers that require some level of investigating, mostly because of their perfectionist nature. The ESFJ will push themselves to uncover information and piece together facts, but only when they feel passionate about it. Most of the time the ESFJ would rather focus on their loved ones and work to improve the lives of everyone around them.

ISTP

ISTPs are rarely interested in investigating people or things, unless they hold a personal connection to it. For them it is more inspiring to focus on the present and look at what is around them. They want to live their lives with independence, as well as passion, and dislike being held back. ISTPs are often private and internal people, but they have a lot going on inside of them. They aren’t usually interesting in investigating people and often find invasion of privacy to be rather childish.

ESTP

ESTPs often enjoy living their lives in the present, but they can become rather curious. When they have moments of not entirely trusting someone they might want to research them in order to understand them fully. This can cause the ESTP to go into this mode of wanting to uncover the truth, which can make them a bit intense. They simply want to learn and know what is going on and dislike being left in the dark. This curiosity can certainly help the ESTP be good at investigating people and situations.

ISFP

ISFPs aren’t usually interesting in investigating people or situations, instead they would rather let their heart be their guide. The ISFP wants to live in the present and enjoy things as they come at them. They dislike getting hung up on doubt and would much rather let the truth come to them. They don’t often want to investigate in a way that seems invasive, they often believe that some things are better left a mystery.

ESFP

ESFPs can be good at investigating when something or someone is important to them. They don’t like getting hung up on things that can upset them, instead they would rather live in the present. ESFPs will investigate a situation or a person when they believe it going to help them or someone they love. In most situations they just aren’t that interested in uncovering information that can simply distract them from actually living their lives.
