What Each Myers Briggs (MBTI) Type is Like As a Friend

Friendships are a valuable and important part of life. Without friends our days would be boring and sometimes very lonely. Here is how each Myers Briggs type behaves as a friend.

INFJ

The friend who always finds a way to make you feel ready for the future. The friend who encourages you to live your life the way that you want to. They are supportive and always there for you, but are probably constantly afraid that you will betray them. When you two talk it feels like you are being understand and completely accepted.

ENFJ

The social friend, who plans fun events and just expects you to show up for them. They are there to support you in your time of need and listen to your problems no matter what. They are the friend you can chat with nonstop, and they never seem to get tired of it.

INFP

The friend that you feel completely comfortable being yourself with. They don’t look down on you for your flaws and are completely understanding of you. When you get tired of the shallow world, you can always come to your INFP friend for the in depth and passionate conversation that you need.

ENFP

The enthusiastic and exciting friend, who is like your own personal cheerleader. They have a way of making you see the bright side of life, and make you feel truly good about yourself. Somehow you feel like they admire you, and always have a good compliment for you. You never feel bored when you are around them.

INTJ

The friend who is a bit snobbish about their unbelievably intellectual mind. They also have a way of giving you solid advice that opens your mind to things you weren’t previously aware of. If you need someone to tell it like it is, they are the perfect friend to go to.

ENTJ

The sometimes controlling, but always entertaining friend. When they aren’t in work mode they are fun to be around and always give you a good laugh. They somehow always make you feel like you should be doing more with your life.

INTP

The friend that never initiates hanging out, and doesn’t really like to make plans. When you finally get to hang out they always have some new and interesting topic to discuss. Even though they aren’t your most openly affectionate friend, you always somehow know they will be there for you when you truly need them.

ENTP

The outgoing and fun friend, who is always ready to do something new and exciting. They constantly make you laugh with their witty sense of humor, and enjoy being able to entertain you. They are capable of discussing a large array of topics, which makes the conversation always interesting.

ISTJ

The always dependable and extremely organized friend. They don’t mind making the plans and are willing to organize any event with ease. You somehow feel you can trust this friend with anything.

ESTJ

The friend who is either lecturing you about your life choices, or being larger than life and trying to keep you entertained. They often pretend to know more about the topics you are discussing than they actually do, but they are seriously good at convincing you.

ISFJ

The friend who always cooks for you and is willing to relax with some Netflix. They are very supportive and warm, and you sometimes wonder if they just pretend to like all the same things as you.

ESFJ

The best friend, who always seems to make you feel really good about yourself. They talk you up and try to show you that you are truly amazing. They occasionally drive you nuts though when they force you to take better care of yourself (or they actually do it for you).

ISTP

The laid back and sarcastic friend who you always seem to have fun with, even if you aren’t doing anything. They know how to fix anything, so that’s a plus.

ESTP

The fun friend who is always down for absolutely anything. If they truly care about you they probably shower you with gifts and try to remind you of how awesome they are.

ISFP

The earthy and artistic friend, who knows more about pop culture than you. They are always current on what is popular and are very in touch with the world around them. Which is fine by you since they keep you hip. They may be a little bit of a hippie, but you love how in touch with nature they are.

ESFP

The friend who is always a blast to hang out with and who is always down for something new. You can’t go wrong partying with them, and they always seem to know where the best parties are.
