Here’s How Much of a Bookworm You Are, According to Your Personality Type
A bookworm is someone who cherishes their chance to read and absorb the written word. While some people feel like reading holds them back from getting things done, others relish in the time they spend between the pages of their books. Here is how much of a bookworm you are, according to your personality type.
INFJ
INFJs are complex people, with unique views and reactions to most things. Some INFJs find themselves far too distracted to spend time reading, but they often wish they had more time for it. INFJs who do find the time, are often extremely bookish people, and love being able to dive into new stories and information. The interesting thing about INFJs is that their range of interest is usually very broad, from comic book, fantasy novels and all the way to non-fiction biographies. INFJs often enjoy exploring information in their reading and want to learn as much as they can, while sometimes they just want to explore a new reality in story form.
ENFJ
ENFJs often find themselves very busy and might not have the time to dedicate to reading that they would like. While they might not always dive into new books, ENFJs are definitely bookish people. They will likely supplement this with online reading and research, and will find new ways to absorb knowledge. ENFJs are busy people but at the same time they often enjoy reading very much, making them natural born bookworms.
INFP
INFPs are often bookworms to the highest degree, especially when they feel motivated to dive into reading. They enjoy being able to absorb knowledge, and love finding information where they can sit back and enjoy taking it all in. INFPs enjoy spending time alone and being able to just relax with a good book is honestly a treat for them. They can soak up these different stories and pieces of information, without feeling obligated to pay attention to anything in the physical world around them.
ENFP
ENFPs are often major bookworms, and enjoy being able to read and absorb knowledge. While ENFPs might not appear the bookish type on the outside, they often find themselves secretly reading when others aren’t around. They are extraverted people who need to spend time with others in order to feel recharged, but they also require more alone time than most other extraverted types. ENFPs will enjoy being able to spend time by themselves, just diving into a good book or even a long article. Anything that enriches their minds and helps them learn and improve, is interesting for the ENFP.
INTJ
INTJs are the ultimate bookworms, since they love absorbing as much knowledge as possible. INTJs are always finding new things to read and dive into, and believe it is important to always be improving. They want information to be available to them, and utilize books and research as their main source of information. While many INTJs also use the internet to do their research, this still makes them rather bookish people. Reading is often the INTJs favorite thing to do, since it helps them expand their minds and continue removing ignorance from their lives.
ENTJ
ENTJs are not often viewed as bookworms, but they often enjoy spending plenty of time reading. They love being able to absorb new knowledge and hate feeling ignorant in any way. Efficiency is important to ENTJs, which means being able to fully understand the information in front of them. They will do the proper research which often requires plenty of reading and studying. While they spend time reading ENTJs also believe that implementing is important, so they don’t want to become stuck in their books.
INTP
INTPs are extremely bookworms, often with piles of books in the corner of their bedrooms. They might not always find the time to read as much as they would like, but INTPs love absorbing knowledge. They often like purchasing many different kinds of books, from information biographies, all the way to intriguing fiction stories. INTPs simply enjoy expanding their minds and love being able to experience the written word. INTPs prefer to be alone most of the time, and feel more comforted by their books than the presence of most people.
ENTP
ENTPs are often bookworms, even if this isn’t obvious to others. They often spend their alone time researching and learning new things which is why ENTPs truly love to read. They enjoy growing and finding many different ways to amass a large surplus of knowledge. While ENTPs do plenty of reading on their own, they also believe in finding real ways to dive into information. ENTPs will take on new experiences first hand as a way to learn in the moment, instead of letting themselves remain stagnant.
ISTJ
ISTJs are often very bookish people, who enjoy being able to read in their spare time. They are also rather hardworking, and spend much of their energy trying to do the right thing. ISTJs believe in providing for their loved ones, and won’t hesitate to take care of the difficult tasks that no one else wants. While ISTJs focus hard on getting things done, they also enjoy plenty of time alone. When the ISTJ does get their much needed alone time, they do often enjoy researching and reading.

While most ESFJs often feel like there are things they should be doing, deep down they often enjoy reading. ESFJs usually like diving into a good sci-fi or fantasy book, and love being able to explore new worlds. When they do have the free time to read, the ESFJ usually does enjoy diving into their stories quite a bit. They don’t usually have the time though, which makes them appear much less bookish than they actually are.
ISTP
ISTPs are not often bookworms, since they prefer to live in the real world. ISTPs do enjoy reading and researching, since they love absorbing knowledge. While they enjoy being able to read, they aren’t the types to be viewed as bookish. ISTPs prefer to take action and want to live presently in the world around them. They believe in experiencing things first hand, and don’t want to feel stuck in the same place for too long.
