Here’s How Important Being Precise is to Each Personality Type

For some people being precise is extremely important, while others are more focused on being sensitive to the needs of others. Here is how important precision is to each personality type.

INFJ Precision

INFJs believe that precision is important but being compassionate takes priority. They dislike not having the proper information and work hard to be knowledgeable people. INFJs are often impressively well-read people who love to spend time doing research on interesting topics. They do believe it is important to be accurate, especially when it comes to certain things they are passionate about. INFJs also believe that caring for others and being considerate of their feelings is much more important than precision. If being overly accurate is going to hurt the feelings of another person, then they will often shy away from this option.

ENFJ Precision

ENFJs can sometimes have a desire to be precise, especially when they are feeling stressed. When the ENFJ is under high levels of stress they can appear more like their function opposite, which makes them more focused on accuracy. During this time the ENFJ finds themselves less interested in emotions and more focused on being right and analyzing the situation. ENFJs during their healthy times will put the feelings of others well above being accurate, even though they do find precision somewhat important. If their desire for accuracy can be expressed in a way that does not hurt someone else, they will be all for it.

INFP Precision

INFPs are imaginative people, and often care much more about this than they do precision. INFPs don’t mind when life gets a little bit messy, and have a much more unique approach to things. They would rather look at the bigger pictures than get too caught up on the details. INFPs actually become very frustrated with people who demand precision with pointless things. They would much rather get to the heart of the matter and understand what is most important, rather than focus on being precise. INFPs are full of heart and sincerity, which makes them more focused on being kind and compassionate than being right.

ENFP Precision

ENFPs are not always the most precise people, but they are perfectly capable of it when they want. If the ENFP is truly angry at someone, then they instantly become focused on the details and can be rather harsh with them. Normally ENFPs are more focused on emotions and doing what is right, and dislike getting too hung up on being precise. They are definitely capable of noticing when someone is not being entirely accurate, but try to express this without hurting their feelings too much. ENFPs simply want to avoid too many arguments, and would rather try to keep things positive.

INTJ Precision

INTJs prefer to focus on things that are practical and useful to them, and truly do enjoy being precise. INTJs definitely dislike seeing inaccuracies in the world around them and will not be afraid to let people know the truth. They dislike feeling unprepared which makes the INTJ do unbelievable amounts of research to fully understand a subject. They definitely believe that being precise is important when it comes to information, and do not want to say anything that isn’t delivered in a detailed manner. INTJs dislike when certain information is left out, since it can easily alter the analysis. They can become frustrated when people leave out important facts, and might even feel like this discredits them completely.

ENTJ Precision

To an ENTJ the most important thing is efficiency, but they do believe in being precise when they can. They would much rather get the job done, and especially want to be sure it meets their high standards. ENTJs do not mind cutting corners if it will ensure that the task is done in a more efficient way. They understand that in some places, precision is vital, while in other cases it is better to focus on the big picture. ENTJs are very capable of balancing a situation in order to find the best strategic course of action.

INTP Precision

Precision is extremely important for INTPs, and is honestly one of their main focuses. They are driven by their desire to learn and to analyze information that they gather. INTPs spend much of their time researching and diving into new topics, and will not express their knowledge until they are exhausted all research. This understanding of information makes INTPs strive for accuracy, even if it might upset others. They have a hard time holding back when they see a lack of precision, and will have an instant desire to make it known to others. This desire to make the truth known to others can cause the INTP to seem a bit abrasive. INTPs are definitely people who strive for precision, but they may have a hard time directly explaining this to others since their thoughts are so internal.

ENTP Precision

ENTPs are definitely precise people, but they are also rather imaginative. Their desire to be accurate is often trumped by their desire to learn and explore new information. ENTPs love to learn as much as they can, but often enjoy doing this by pushing boundaries and diving into things. They do enjoy being accurate though, and will have a hard time holding themselves back when they see inaccuracies around them. ENTPs can be a bit abrasive for people who do not understand them and their personality. They have rather charismatic personalities, but also enjoy being able to debate with people and push their buttons. When someone is not being entirely accurate, ENTPs will not be afraid to let them know the truth.

ISTJ Precision

ISTJs are hardworking people, who have a desire to gets things done with rather high standards. The fact that ISTJs want to live up to these standards causes them to become rather precise about certain things. If the task at hand requires a certain level of precision, the ISTJ will definitely do what they can to follow that. ISTJs can also be precise when it comes to giving instructions, and prefer to make sure things are getting done properly.

ESTJ Precision

ESTJs can be oddly precise people, when it comes to certain things. They will often find themselves focusing on the small details, and desire to keep things organized around them. ESTJs are very focused on efficiency, and sometimes that requires being precise with their actions. In order to make sure everything gets done the right way, the ESTJ will take the extra precautions. They are naturally rule following people, who prefer to get things done to rather high standards. Their desire to work hard to take charge, makes ESTJs often focus on being as precise as they can.

ISFJ Precision

ISFJs generally do not care as much about being precise as they do about caring for others. They work hard to get things done and want to be sure that their loved ones are happy. ISFJs are peacekeepers, which causes them to avoid precision when it might hurt someone’s feelings. Making people happy is far more important to the ISFJ, which makes them care very little for obsessing over accuracy. They can definitely be precise when it comes to organization and keeping their home clean though, but they will often take these matters into their own hands.

ESFJ Precision

ESFJs really don’t care about being precise, especially when the emotions of others are involved. ESFJs would much rather hold back in order to keep from hurting someone’s feelings. They are extremely focused on getting things done and taking care of others, which leaves little room for obsessing over the details. When the ESFJ is under high amounts of stress, they can become a bit different and will be more focused on precision. The normally compassionate and caring ESFJ will become focused on the small details and will be obsessed with being precise and accurate with everything.

ISTP Precision

ISTPs are extremely precise people, and actually enjoy being as accurate as possible. A mature ISTP definitely takes the emotions of others into account, and will try to find a more tactful way to express the inaccuracies that they notice. ISTPs enjoy absorbing knowledge, and are naturally skilled at tasks which require a certain level of precision. Their drive to analyze and understand makes ISTPs strive for accuracy with everything they do.

ESTP Precision

ESTPs are definitely focused on being precise, especially with subjects they know a lot about. They can sometimes frustrate people when they point out the inaccuracies around them, but their natural charm helps them get around this. ESTPs do not want to upset people, they simply dislike seeing ignorance and want to find ways to remove it from the world. When the ESTP notices that someone is not being precise or completely accurate, they will find a way to let them know the truth.

ISFP Precision

Being precise is definitely not the most important thing for ISFPs. They are kind people, which often makes precision and accuracy a much less vital quality for them. ISFPs would rather not say or do something that will hurt someone else’s feelings, and will certainly prioritize this over accuracy. ISFPs are imaginative people, who absolutely love to soak up the beauty in the world around them. This ability to see the wonders around them, makes ISFPs much less focused on precision than the other types.

ESFP Precision

ESFPs truly don’t care about being precise, especially since it seems like a pointless feat for them. ESFPs would much rather stay positive, and focus on the good things around them. They enjoy having fun and living in the moment, and can become very frustrated by people who demand precision. ESFPs want to truly enjoy life, and do not like living each day obsessed with pointless details. They will often become very upset by people who care about precision, and will rarely find themselves getting along with these types.
