Here’s How Each Personality Type Feels About Physical Labor

Here’s How Each Personality Type Feels About Physical Labor

Not everyone is naturally skilled at physical labor, and some people find it just plain exhausting. Here is how each personality type responds to physical labor.

INFJ

INFJs are often viewed as mentally and emotionally focused people, but they are actually very capable of physical labor. They often find that they enjoy being able to zone out and perform the task without much worry. INFJs might enjoy being able to work with their hands and not have to do mental work, so that they can just allow their minds to wander. INFJs have incredibly rich inner minds, which makes mentally difficult work somewhat draining for them. They often enjoy the ability to just focus on the task at hand, and let their minds sort of daydream about different things.

ENFJ

ENFJs are rarely afraid of getting their hands dirty, since they often take on most tasks themselves. They are rarely hesitant to perform most physical tasks, and usually find themselves quite capable. ENFJs might prefer mental skills over physical ones, but they can definitely handle both. ENFJs hate feeling they are incapable of doing something, and will usually push themselves because of this. They might even enjoy the feeling of getting something done, and feel even more accomplished when they perform certain physical labor.

INFP

INFPs might enjoy physical labor on a more occasional basis, and become tired of it if is a daily task. Certain physical labor jobs are rather repetitive, which can become boring and exhausting for INFPs. They prefer something exciting and mentally stimulating, as far as a regular job goes. INFPs might enjoy being able to perform the occasional physical labor tasks, simply because they can daydream while they are doing it. They are not usually incapable of physical labor, they just become rather bored with repetitive tasks of any kind.

ENFP

ENFPs are usually very good at physical labor, and might enjoy being able to see something getting done. They will likely enjoy the feeling of completion when they actually get to get their hands dirty and finish a task. ENFPs can become bored rather easily though, and would need a physical job that allows them to do different things instead of the same exact tasks. Having to perform any sort of monotonous task is draining and extremely daunting for ENFPs. They enjoy being able to involve their hands in something, so physical labor is usually not frightening for them at all.

INTJ

INTJs often enjoy that physical labor allows them plenty of time to think and let their minds wander. INTJs have extremely active minds, but they enjoy being able to explore different ideas. If they are forced to work in a job that is constantly mentally demanding, it means they do not get to choose where their thoughts are focused. INTJs are usually skilled at anything they put their minds to, and will adjust to physical job rather well. They dislike working in a situation where they feel like they are being used though, and would likely need to perform manual labor that allows them plenty of room to grow and better themselves.

ENTJ

ENTJs are certainly not afraid of physical labor, and often enjoy getting things done. Performing physical tasks actually feels rather rewarding for ENTJs because they can see their progress rather clearly. They enjoy being able to push themselves, and many physical jobs allow them to do this. ENTJs will excel in a job that is more physical, especially if they are capable of growing and moving forward. They definitely do not do well if they are not capable of growth in their careers, and will become frustrated if they are stagnant for too long. ENTJs likely will enjoy physical labor if it is as a side job, or simply something they can do as a hobby.

INTP

Most physical labor jobs are actually quite exhausting for INTPs, simply because they feel like they cannot grow and move forward. If something is not mentally stimulating for the INTP, they will become drained by it. They enjoy being able to feel challenged, and many physical labor jobs are rather monotonous. INTPs are usually capable of pushing themselves, and might enjoy certain physical activities, but they definitely prefer things that are more mentally active. INTPs might find that they enjoy certain manual labor though, especially if it allows them to daydream and think about different things while they are doing it.

ENTP

ENTPs often do not mind physical labor, especially if they feel challenged by it. They enjoy participating in anything that helps to push them, and helps them grow. If the ENTP feels like they are performing monotonous tasks, they will become quickly drained by this. ENTPs don’t mind physical labor that helps them feel engaged and eager to learn. They might bounce from one job to another, especially if they feel like they have no room to improve in that position. Physical labor that helps the ENTP feel excited and passionate, will definitely keep them interested.

ISTJ

ISTJs have an insanely impressive work ethic, and are always willing to push themselves to improve. They will definitely learn how to be great at anything they do, even if their job demands that they perform certain physical tasks. ISTJs are usually best suited in jobs that require them to perform mentally, or even things that require minor handiwork. ISTJs might not thrive in manual labor careers, since they prefer to be able to think things through before moving forward. They will definitely push themselves to perform though, even if it isn’t their absolute favorite thing to do.

ESTJ

ESTJs will enjoy certain physical labor, if it allows them to improve themselves. ESTJs like being able to take charge of a situation, and only do well if they have room to grow in their position. If they are stuck in a stagnant job where they cannot showcase their skill, the ESTJ will feel the need to step away from that position. ESTJs need to feel like they are being validated for their efforts, and because of this they often do best in positions that take this into account.

ISFJ

ISFJs usually prefer jobs that are less physically demanding, but that doesn’t mean they cannot perform them. They are the type of people who will push themselves beyond what they enjoy, in order to take care of their loved ones. If they need to perform physical tasks, the ISFJ will definitely find a way to do this. They generally prefer mentally demanding jobs though, and will excel in a position where they can work with people.

ESFJ

ESFJs usually do not mind physical labor, and will do whatever they have to in order to do be successful. They want to please their loved ones, and will take on whatever they need to. Even if the job is difficult, ESFJs are usually good at finding a way to get things done. They work best in more mentally demanding jobs, but will also be able to succeed in a jobs that require them to perform physically. Even if the ESFJ dislikes physical labor, they will still be capable of doing what needs to be done. They might become drained by this after a while though, and will begin feeling the need to find a less physical job.

ISTP

ISTPs are naturally skilled at anything physical, and are usually great at physical labor. They often make good mechanics, because they can logically understand the vehicle and also are great at getting their hands dirty. ISTPs are often found in physical jobs, and become bored if they are inactive for too long. If they do not work in a physical atmosphere, ISTPs usually enjoy having a hobby that allows them to be physical. They certainly are not afraid of physical labor, and actually enjoy getting their hands dirty.

ESTP

ESTPs are naturally good at anything physical, and definitely do well in jobs that require manual labor. They enjoy getting things done, and especially enjoy being able to perform a task well. Some ESTPs might find that they do better in jobs that require them to think, and prefer to have more physical hobbies. They are not afraid of getting their hands dirty though, and will often be able to jump into anything new.

ISFP

ISFPs are generally very in touch with the physical world around them, and might even enjoy physical labor. Being able to get their hands dirty, and just daydream about different things, is actually rather nice for ISFPs. Some ISFPs might not like something that is too physically draining though, and prefer to be able to take a break. They would do best to have more physical hobbies, than they would having a job that is constantly physical.

ESFP

ESFPs certainly aren’t afraid of physical labor, and are often very good at anything that involves using their hands. They do better as entertainers though, and might dislike a job that doesn’t allow them to showcase their fun personalities. They often do better with physical labor when it is just as a hobby or a side job, and dislike anything that doesn’t allow them to communicate with other people.
