Here’s How Childlike Each Personality Type Is Most Likely To Be

Some people have a strong sense of childlike innocence that they can maintain through adulthood, while others are old souls from a young age. Here is how childlike each personality type actually is.

INFJ

INFJs are definitely old souls, with a powerful depth of emotions and thoughts inside of them. They veer more towards the type of people who appear more like adults even when they are children. INFJs do have a playfulness to them though, and can sometimes laugh at the most childish jokes. Their youngness comes out more in their sense of humor, more than anything else. Their constant awareness of the pain around them, makes the INFJ a bit more mature in their outward appearance. They may struggle to keep their childlike enthusiasm, simply because the reality of life makes it far too difficult.

ENFJ

ENFJs are extremely focus on caring for the needs of others, which makes it hard for them to keep their childlike innocence. ENFJs are often seen as old souls, even from a very young age. They naturally are in tune with the emotions and needs of others, making them grow up rather quickly. ENFJs are the responsible ones, who force themselves to care for others even when their own needs are not met. This often robs them of their childish side, and causes the ENFJ to be more mature than others. They do have a playfulness to their personalities though, and it comes out when they are around people they trust.

INFP

INFPs definitely have childlike personalities, and have a way of keeping this innocence with them throughout life. Their strong sense of morals and desire to do what is right, is actually a big reason that INFP can maintain their more childlike qualities. Instead of allowing the world to alter their perception and beliefs, INFPs hold true to what they know is right. This is a wonderful quality to possess, and is something most people lose as they merge into adulthood. Instead of letting themselves become lost in the many opinions of the world, INFPs know who they are and will not budge on this.

ENFP

ENFPs are often extremely childlike, even as they grow older and become adults. This quality is a big part of the ENFPs charm and appeal, and makes them positive and fun people to be around. They know how to lighten the mood, and will use their childlike imagination to bring joy to others. ENFPs never lose than vivid and beautiful imagination, which makes them creative and extraordinary people. ENFPs can also have a childlike sense of humor, once that can be a bit infectious. They are perfectly capable of being mature when the moment requires it, they just have a sense of playfulness that keeps the ENFP young at heart.

INTJ

INTJs are definitely old souls, and are often like this from a very young age. INTJs are realistic people and do not have false ideas of how life should be. Their desire to absorb knowledge and remove ignorance from themselves and others, often causes INTJs to grow up rather quickly. They rarely maintain their childlike innocence, simply because it would deter them from learning and truly understanding the world around them. INTJs are logic minded people, which leaves very little room for childlike behaviors. They do know how to have fun, and can have rather goofy sense of humor, they simply do not have innocent minds like some other types do.

ENTJ

ENTJs are logical people, which often causes them to let go of their childlike personalities. They do know how to have fun and are often very playful people, but they are certainly not innocent. ENTJs prefer to absorb knowledge and understanding which is helpful in removing naivety from their minds. ENTJs are moral and honest people, and are focused on getting things done to the best of their abilities. They simply are more realistic and have an awareness of the world around them.

INTP

INTPs are focused on knowledge and understanding, and hate feeling like they are left unaware. This desire to learn is something that often removes the childlike aspects of the INTPs personality. As they learn and understand more about the world around them, it makes it difficult for them to maintain a sense of innocence. INTPs are logical people and dislike feeling naïve or as though anyone has fooled them. They can have a sense of playfulness to their personalities, but it is often tied to their sense of humor. INTPs simply prefer to be knowledgeable and mature, and are often more cynical than they are childlike.

ENTP

ENTPs are realistic people, who love absorbing and exploring new knowledge. They absolutely love diving into possibilities, and hate being held back by anything. They are independent people, which and thirst for knowledge and newness. ENTPs do have a childlike side to their personalities though, which they are somehow capable of maintaining even with their sense of realism. They are not naïve people, but they are playful and enjoy being able to enjoy themselves without feeling guilty. ENTPs are very good at pushing the buttons of other people, which is a big part of the childlike side of their personality. They simply enjoy understanding and learning about other people and the world around them, and this curiosity is definitely something that stems from a childlike imagination.

ISTJ

ISTJs are much more mature than many other types, even from a young age. They do have a playful side to their personality, but it is rarely childlike. ISTJs are generally not innocent minded people, and are often extremely realistic. They prefer to be practical and focus on the things that need to get done in order to maintain their lifestyle. ISTJs care about others, and are often the ones to provide for the people around them. They rarely have the ability to maintain their childlike innocence, simply because there is too much serious work that needs to be done.

ESTJ

ESTJs are certainly not childlike, and are often forced to be adults at young ages. They are practical and realistic people which causes them to abandon childish things. ESTJs realize that life is about responsibility, which requires them to be mature and get things done. ESTJs prefer efficiency, and if someone is constantly focused on childlike behavior, this will actually frustrate them immensely. They want to get things done and to their own rather high standards. ESTJs are caring people and they do know how to have fun, they simply do not have a childish bone left in them.

They will push aside their own needs and desires in order to make their loved ones happy. ISFJs are definitely not childlike people, simply because there are serious responsibilities that cause them to let go of this side of them.

ESFJ

ESFJs can be playful people and might maintain a childlike side for a while. ESFJs will likely reach a point in their lives where they need to let go of this part of their personality. Their main focus is caring for the needs of their loved ones, and this becomes a priority for them. ESFJs are often forced to grow up at a young age, since they have natural desire to make other people happy and do not want to be a burden. Around the right people the ESFJ can feel comfortable allowing their more childlike side to be exposed, but this is a rare occurrence.

ISTP

ISTPs are certainly not childlike people, and prefer to be realistic. ISTPs simply prefer to have independence, which is a big reason why they let go of their childishness at a young age. They want to be capable of having space and freedom from others, and this is something that requires maturity. ISTPs often grow up rather quickly, so that they can make the most out of their lives. They definitely do not want to depend on other people, and prefer to be self-reliant.

ESTP

ESTPs are often hardworking and focused people, with a drive to get things done. They want to be seen as responsible and focused adults, but they do have a childlike side to their personalities. They have moments where they simply want to live in the moment and do whatever they please. For the most part though ESTPs are not innocent minded people, and have a more realistic outlook on life. They often realize from a young age that life is not simple or easy, and are forced to grow up. ESTPs do not want to be left behind because they lack maturity, and because of this they come to terms with adulthood rather quickly.

ISFP

ISFPs actually do maintain a childlike enthusiasm through most of their lives. They have a sense of innocence that keeps them young and allows them to truly care for others.
